HHM, Hersha Hospitality Management, Renovates Five
of its Eight D.C. Area Managed Properties

(Philadelphia) – July 5, 2012
… HHM, formerly referred to as Hersha Hospitality Management, announced the renovation of guestroom suites and public spaces at four of its D.C. area branded properties – the 228-room Hampton Inn Washington/Downtown Convention Center, the 196-room Courtyard Alexandria Pentagon South, the 98-room Residence Inn Tysons Corner in Virginia and the 120-room Residence Inn Greenbelt in Maryland. A complete renovation was also done at the 152-room Capitol Hill Hotel, a recently rebranded, boutique, upscale property that is part of HHM’s Independent Collection. In total, HHM manages more than 1,100 rooms across its eight D.C. Metro properties.

As one of the closet hotels to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C., the Hampton Inn has made upgrades that accommodate conference attendees and leisure travelers alike. More seating was added to the lobby and outdoor areas, giving guests a place to rest their feet after roaming the convention floor. They can also relax with cocktails, wine or beer on-tap at the new lobby bar, which features delicious appetizers and small bites. Other changes include new guestroom and hallway carpets.

The investment at Courtyard Alexandria Pentagon South included a complete renovation of all guestrooms, featuring Marriott’s fresh décor package.   New furniture, as well as updated artwork, drapes and carpet, give the rooms a warm and modern feel. The updated lobby features free Wi-Fi, GoBoard – an interactive touch-screen with maps and local information, and the stylish Bistro, offering breakfast, happy hour and dinner. Courtyard Alexandria Pentagon South is located just four miles outside of Pentagon City and provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), the Pentagon City metro and the BRAC-133 Department of Defense office complex.

Several renovations were made to the Residence Inn Greenbelt, which has some of the largest suites in the area and full kitchens in the guestrooms.  Travelers on business at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center will work in style, taking advantage of the adjustable ergonomic chairs and elongated desks in each room. In accordance with the brand new Marriott Oasis package, guests will find their rooms upgraded with new carpet, a designer paint scheme featuring an accent wall and updated furniture, drapes and appliances. The guestroom kitchens were also enhanced with granite countertops and wall murals.

The Residence Inn Tysons Corner, a tranquil getaway surrounded by the bustle of a fast-paced city, received renovations to enhance the already relaxing and comfortable accommodations. In addition to an updated outdoor experience with a fire pit and new patio furniture, guests will also be welcomed by indoor upgrades such as a completely redone lobby with an all new buffet area and modern facilities in the business center.  And, the hotel now has 16 executive suites that feature a six-person boardroom table and 43” HDTV.  All guestrooms received granite countertops in the kitchen and bathroom areas, and state of the art fiber-optic high-speed Internet.

HHM’s Independent Collection also manages the recently rebranded and updated, Capitol Hill Hotel, located in the heart of D.C., on Capitol Hill. Formerly known as Capitol Hill Suites, the hotel has a sophisticated new look – a comfortable space where modern amenities meet locally inspired design.  To date, completed renovations include the striking lobby as well as the expansion and addition of meeting and event spaces.  Guestrooms will be renovated in the second phase of the project, expected to be completed by early 2013.
