She is a sales and marketing executive with more than 25 years of experience in everything from sales leadership to campaign management and client and vendor negotiations. “I am very excited to be part of such a highly respected technology company in the hospitality industry,” said Garcia. “My hospitality sales leadership experience will be put to good use at Knowland.” Garcia has extensive technology sales experience, particularly in the hospitality industry. For the last seven years she has been at the forefront of group sales technology solutions through her work at OnVantage, StarCite and Active Network. Most recently she was a Vice President of Global Sales for Starcite/Active Network, a leader in meeting procurement and management as well as online event registration management. There she was responsible for leading a team to create new market opportunities, drive sales and provide greater value. Before that she was a Director of National Accounts, leading her team to its single largest annual revenue increase in company history. “With her experience managing sales teams at both hotels and hospitality software companies, Kathleen is a great asset for Knowland,” said CEO Michael K. McKean. “She understands what hotels need to move market share and drive revenue and how Knowland can best meet those needs.” The sales executive also has over a dozen years of experience working for major hotel brands such as Marriott and Hilton. She spent over a decade as a Director of Sales and Marketing for Marriott Corporation and taught Marriott’s sales training for six years. She was also an Opening Director of Marketing for Hilton Hotels in Newark, Delaware.
