Elegant Hotels Group Names Joanna Roterberg as
General Manager of The House

Completes Extensive Five-month Renovation of the
34-suite Adults-only Boutique Hotel in Barbados

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - Aug. 24, 2012 -- On Oct. 6, 2012, The House, one of Barbados' premier West Coast hotels, will unveil its new look following an extensive five-month refurbishment. The boutique, adults-only, 34-suite hotel will showcase contemporary interior designs, as well as fabulous new room décor complete with local handcrafted Bajan artwork. These intricate developments, along with the introduction of a new one-bedroom suites concept and the hotel's 24-hour Ambassador Program, ensure that guests will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere capturing the essence of the Caribbean lifestyle and creating a "home away from home" environment.

Home Away From Home
The relaxed residential feel of The House, already a key draw in the hotel's public areas, will be extended to each of the bedrooms with an emphasis on the customized wooden furniture, new seating areas and French doors opening out to breath-taking ocean views from spacious balconies.

All bathrooms will be refreshed with new granite surfaces, makeup mirrors, indulgent rainfall showers and state-of-the-art shower jets. Soft lighting throughout the property will enhance its cozy ambience and tranquillity, offering guests an intimate and private haven during their stay on the stunning island of Barbados.

New One-Bedroom Suites
The spacious new one-bedroom suites are 689 square feet and offer another level of luxury for guests.

Guests who book a one-bedroom suite will enjoy added extras including VIP meet and greet airport service, private transfer to the hotel, upgraded bathroom amenities and an extended one-hour luxurious jet lag massage. NespressoTM machines will also be featured in all one-bedroom suites, allowing guests to have a fabulous first morning coffee in bed.

Local Bajan Artwork
The House has commissioned local Bajan artist Reggie Medford to create unique sculptures hand-crafted from mahogany wood, which will be showcased throughout each of the suites and also available for guests to purchase. Medford has earned critical acclaim throughout the Caribbean, US and Europe for his masterpieces, and his artwork fits perfectly within the chic home away from home environment of The House.

Dining
The House is in a privileged location on the West Coast of Barbados and is adjacent to Daphne's, sister restaurant to its world renowned London counterpart, a mecca for foodies from around the world.  Guests at The House can opt to dine on fine Italian cuisine at Daphne's or enjoy options from the menu in the comfort of the hotel.

There are plenty of other sumptuous treats at the hotel, including a daily champagne breakfast and delicious afternoon tea, both of which are complimentary for all guests, just as it would be at home.

After a day of relaxing, guests are invited to enjoy stunning sunsets accompanied by mouth-watering canapés, courtesy of The House.

Watersports
Barbados is understandably a hub for watersports lovers, and The House offers a watersports center with a host of complimentary activities for guests including snorkelling, sailing, boogie boards, kayaking, windsurfing, stand up paddling, banana boating and water-skiing, located at adjacent sister property, Tamarind.

Wellness
Guests at The House can look forward to the very best body and soul treatments. Upon arrival, every guest at The House can immediately relax with a complimentary jet lag revival massage in a beach cabana or in the comfort of their room, before enjoying complimentary canapés and a reviving afternoon tea.

There are plenty of other pampering options at The House.  Guests can request to have treatments in their room and in the luxury beach cabanas, or can indulge in the spa at The House's sister property and next-door neighbor, Tamarind.  The Tamarind Spa offers exclusive treatments developed by pioneering spa company O SPA London, and offers a selection of treatments including a couples Four Hands Suga Suga Lomi Lomi Massage, during which two therapists massage, knead and relax bodies with specialist techniques featuring exotic cowrie shells and synchronized movements.  Another soothing treatment is the signature Royal Bajan Ritual Body Treatment, a full body polish using local organic raw sugar, cowrie shells, a master blend of nourishing and protective anti-oxidants, and local coconut oils.

For those wishing to trim and tone, the fitness center at The House has a range of Cybex cardio and weight equipment.  There is also a selection of fitness classes available at Tamarind.  In addition, guests can book personal training sessions with certified trainers to help them achieve their fitness goals either on the beach or in the gym.

The House Ambassadors
Service is a key component of the "home away from home" environment that The House offers, and is best exemplified by its The House Ambassador Program. Upon arrival, The House ambassadors are constantly on-hand to look after guests' every wish and desire. From the initial in-room check-in, the ambassadors become a guest's personal assistant, bellman, concierge, waiter and friend all in one. The intimacy of The House means that the ambassadors know what guests want before they do; from providing poolside popsicles and chilled water to sun worshippers, to booking personal shopping services at Limegrove Lifestyle Centre, a round of golf at Ape's Hill, or treatments at the Tamarind Spa, they make it their mission to ensure guests don't have to lift a finger, unless they want to.

Appointment of a new GM at The House
