August 28, 2012 (Irvington, Virginia) - Tides Inn on the banks of the Chesapeake Bay in Irvington, Virginia, has appointed Brian McDonough as Restaurant and Wine Manager. Arriving with a decade of food and beverage management experience, McDonough works closely with Executive Chef TV Flynn and his culinary team while overseeing food and wine for four onsite restaurants as well as in-room dining, banqueting and special events.

McDonough's main focus is on delighting diners with a dynamic wine-pairing menu featuring domestic, international, and regional Virginia wines. His goal will also be to introduce uncommon wines that are a good or better alternative to some premium wines. The creation of a continually updated wine list and pairing menu will include constant tastings and assessments.

McDonough arrived at Tides Inn following a two-year run as Director of Outlets at Omni Richmond Hotel. Previously he was Outlets Manager at Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel.

Born and raised in Boston, MA, McDonough currently resides in Richmond, VA.
