MindClick SGM Announces the Addition of Leading Hospitality Lighting
Supplier Van Teal to the HSP Index

With the addition of Van Teal Hospitality, the HSP Index now includes
participation from 15 supplier categories

New York May 14, 2012 –MindClick SGM™ announced the participation of Van Teal Lighting in the HSP Index.  Known for its innovative light fixtures and designs for hospitality, Van Teal is a top choice of designers, architectural and interior design firms, and hotel and restaurant brands. By participating in the HSP Index, Van Teal acknowledges the importance of sustainability and establishes its commitment to greening the global supply chain for hospitality.

With more than 4.6 million hotel rooms in the U.S., lighting is a major investment for all hotels, brands and owners – and as a central element of design, it has a substantial impact on the guest experience and the environmental footprint of a hotel.

"We are delighted to have Van Teal join the HSP Index program,” said JoAnna Abrams, CEO of MindClick. She concluded, “By integrating sustainability into many aspects of how lighting is designed, produced, distributed and used, Van Teal and others can produce beautiful, design-focused products that also use resources more efficiently and help hotels achieve their sustainability goals.”

Van Teal’s participation in the HSP Index marks the fifteenth supplier category to be represented in the Index. The other categories represented are:  architects and designers, art and mirrors, carpets, case goods, drapery fabricators, fabrics, faucets and fixtures, LEDs, linens, logistics, mattresses, purchasing companies and seating.

“As a leading supplier for markets in the hospitality industry, Van Teal has long been committed to sophisticated, well-designed lighting that also achieves fundamental standards of sustainability,” said Eddy Van Teal, Vice President of Van Teal Lighting. He concluded, “We are looking forward to sharing the ways in which we contribute to greening the global supply chain for hospitality.”

In 2011, the Hospitality Sustainability Purchasing Consortium was created to establish an agreed upon framework and single source reporting system for the sustainability of suppliers and their products.  The resulting HSP Index reflects the input of twenty-eight Consortium members including industry leading brands, suppliers, architect and design firms, purchasing firms and the USGBC.

Based on leading global sustainability standards, the HSP Index provides purchasing stakeholders the knowledge needed to select suppliers whose practices reduce the industry’s environmental impact, contribute to guest health and well-being and meet hotelier’s performance needs.

In combination with the USGBC’s LEED™ rating system, and energy efficiency measure Energy Star, the HSP Index provides hoteliers a complete solution to build, furnish and operate hotels in ways that are Better for the Guest, the Community, and the Planet™.

Twenty-nine leading organizations are now part of the Consortium, including suppliers, leading brands, architects, purchasing firms, and sustainability consultants. Van Teal joins existing Consortium members and participants Marriott International, American Standard, Audit Logistics, Aqua Hospitality Carpets, Benjamin West, BYD, Contract Decor International, Delta Faucet Company, Fairmont Designs, Innvision, InterfaceFLOR, JLF/lone meadow, Kimball Hospitality, Majestic Mirror and Frame, Mark David, PE INTERNATIONAL Inc., P.
