“We are excited to welcome back Chef Grohowski to the Hyatt Regency Maui family,” said Michael Jokovich, general manager of the resort. “With his extensive culinary background and wealth of knowledge in the food and beverage industry, he will be a natural fit, as we continue to deliver an authentic Hawaiian dining experience to our guests.”
Grohowski joined the Hyatt Hotels and Resorts family in 1990, where he began his career as the chef de cuisine of Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort and Spa’s Tidepool’s Restaurant. Chef Grohowski became the executive sous chef from 1996 until 1999, managing all kitchen operations. Since then, he has worked for various food and beverage outlets including Wind Star Sail Cruises as executive chef and Hyatt Regency Las Vegas Resort and Spa as executive sous chef. In March 2001, he joined the team at Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Calif., where he was appointed executive chef and managed the hotel and banquet menus. After more than one year at Hyatt Westlake Plaza, Grohowski became the executive chef at Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort and Conference Center. By October 2005, he was leading the culinary team at Hyatt Regency Irvine.
A graduate of the Paragon Restaurants Corporation chef apprentice program, Grohowski has trained with some of the world’s renowned European and American chefs. Through these experiences, he has perfected international and continental cuisine. He is thrilled to return to the Hawaiian Islands to showcase his specialty and become reacquainted with the island’s local farms and farmers.
Grohowski serves as one of the Hyatt Corporation’s training chefs and teaches rising culinary specialists in pastry presentation. He is also a team member of Hyatt Corporation’s impact training.
