HAMA Chooses Educational Institute as Certification Partner


Orlando, Florida, June 2012—The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) will provide online testing services for the new professional certification designation offered by the Hospitality Asset Managers Association (HAMA).  The association recently introduced the Certified Hotel Asset Manager (CHAM) designation for senior-level professionals.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with EI on the exciting launch of the Certified Hotel Asset Manager designation,” said Carroll Warfield, managing director of Thayer Lodging Group and president of HAMA.  “This partnership enables HAMA to offer sophisticated and secure on-line testing services to all CHAM applicants.  We have developed a comprehensive ‘test bank’ of approximately 700 multiple-choice questions for the 200-question CHAM exam.  By partnering with EI, we have the ability to implement a random, rotating question list for each individual CHAM exam and offer test-takers instantaneous results on test scores.”

The CHAM certification aims to establish industry-wide standards of excellence within the profession while further solidifying the institutional/fiduciary role and expectations of a senior asset manager. Achieving the CHAM certification announces that you have a place among the best in your profession and are capable of adequately fulfilling the role and expectations demanded of you by hotel owners and stakeholders.

The Educational Institute has been the premier provider of hospitality professional certification since 1971, when it introduced the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA). For the past four years, EI has been developing online certification exams for its many professional certifications, beginning with the CHA in 2008. The secure, online exam offers certification candidates greater convenience and provides them with immediate results, as well as a printable assessment showing results by subject area.
