Scott Perry Named as General Manager for the 150-room SpringHill Suites
by Marriott Denver Downtown at Metro State in Colorado

Scheduled to Open August 2012, Managed by Sage Hospitality Resources

– The SpringHill Suites by Marriott Denver Downtown at Metro State, scheduled to open this August, is pleased to announce that Scott Perry has been hired to serve as General Manager.

With more than 20 years of hospitality and sales experience, Perry most recently served as a dual General Manager for RHW Hotels in Colorado Springs, overseeing the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Colorado Springs South and the SpringHill Suites Colorado Springs South.  He previously held several senior operations positions with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, including serving as General Manager of the Residence Inn Colorado Springs and Assistant General Manager and Director of Operations at the Trumbull Marriott in Connecticut. Perry earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and a Masters of Business Administration from Utah State University.

Perry, who opened two Marriott-branded hotels within a month of one another, has won several awards, including being named “General Manager of the Year” and “Hotel of the Year” by RHW for the Colorado Springs TownePlace Suites in 2009. RHW recently named the SpringHill Suites Colorado Springs South “Hotel of the Year” for 2011.

Managed by Denver-based Sage Hospitality Resources, the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Denver Downtown is slated to open in August 2012. Located in the heart of downtown Denver, the hotel will feature 150 spacious guest suites, all with a large work space, microwave, mini-fridge and a spa-like bathroom, plus 5,000 square feet of meeting space. Amenities will include complimentary hot breakfast served daily, a Market open 24 hours a day, a fitness center and complimentary wireless Internet.

The hotel will also house the Metropolitan State College of Denver’s new Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center (HLC), a 28,000-square-foot educational facility that will combine classrooms with interactive laboratories to provide an experiential curriculum for the college’s more than 500 Hospitality, Tourism and Events students, as well professionals seeking continuing education. Classes offered in the HLC will include Applied Hotel and Restaurant Operations, Hotel Housekeeping, Meeting and Event Management and Hospitality Service Systems.
