News for the Hospitality Executive |
DALLAS,
Texas/DENVER, Colo., April 19, 2012—Richfield Hospitality, a leading
hotel
management company, today announced that Jessica Craycraft, senior
group sales
manager, and Meredith Harrell, catering manager, both of The Joule,
Dallas’
revitalized 1920s landmark hotel, were awarded a 2012 Mercedes Benz.
Craycraft
of Tyler, TX and Harrell of Dallas, TX each earned the new
car for exceeding her sales goals by more than 25 percent in 2011.
“The Joule has been undergoing an extensive, $78 million expansion, which is why their achievements are particularly noteworthy,” noted Brendan Carlin, the hotel’s managing director and chief experience officer. “Often, the disruption that comes with construction is an impediment to booking social events and groups of any kind, but Jessica and Meredith were able to focus the guests’ attentions on The Joule’s finer attributes and not let the improvements get in the way.” According to Carlin, both women took a strategic approach to earning the luxury cars. Craycraft focused her attention on building Wednesday through Saturday meeting business, while Harrell exceeded her goals by aggressively seeking out small weddings, well suited to the hotel’s intimate ballroom. “The Joule is a favorite destination for Dallas business travelers, so our busiest days are Sunday through Tuesday,” Carlin explained. “Jessica and Meredith looked at the hotel’s needs and then targeted the companies and individuals whose own needs for accommodations, meeting and social space were compatible. They took a focused, strategic approach, and it paid off.” Both Craycraft and Harrell chose black 2012 Mercedes Benz C-250 four-door sedans for their awards. Located in downtown Dallas, The Joule, a luxury boutique hotel, occupies the 1920s neo-gothic landmark Dallas National Bank building. The 129 uniquely designed guest rooms and penthouse suite are the work of award-winning designer Adam D. Tihany, who tastefully blends old world quality with contemporary design to create a visual masterpiece. The Joule is located conveniently within walking distance of the acclaimed Dallas Arts District and is adjacent to the flagship Neiman Marcus department store. The hotel features a rooftop pool with cantilevered glass roof and Charlie Palmer at The Joule, serving artisanal creations from the master chef. The Joule is in the second phase of a two-year expansion that will include an expansive, 8,000 square foot Tihany-designed, subterranean spa with an ice fountain, geothermal pool and ”experience showers,” a second restaurant concept by chef Palmer and glamorous, new ballrooms that will triple the available meeting and event space. When completed, the expanded hotel will feature an additional 29 luxury guest suites and two three-story penthouse suites along with an underground disco and recording studio, evolved from the original bank vault.
