AUSTIN, Texas, April 24, 2012-- The Renaissance Austin Hotel, the centerpiece of the Arboretum at Great Hills, a premier shopping and dining destination, will further enhance the area's stunning landscaped setting with a complete property renovation slated to begin in October. Flick-Mars Design has been tapped by the new owners of the hotel, Inland American Lodging Advisor, Inc., to reinvent the space within the AAA four-diamond hotel, including its guest rooms, public spaces, restaurants, bars, grand ballroom and meeting facilities, through a unique "Pure Austin" style. The design will reflect the essence of the Renaissance Hotels brand by creating unique guest experiences through a style which reflects the hotel's indigenous surroundings.

"This extensive renovation will infuse the hotel with a distinct sense of place with a true Austin vibe and will offer a place for locals and visitors alike to discover the very best that the Renaissance Austin hotel offers."
The exceptional property, with its panoramic views of the Texas Hill Country and proximity to the Arboretum shopping and dining district, was named one of the Top Three Places to Work in Austin by the Austin American-Statesman in 2011. A destination for business and social events, as well as leisure getaways, the hotel features 70,000 square feet of event and meeting space, including venues with views of the Arboretum, 18 breakout rooms and available exhibition space. The hotel also has two pool areas, both indoor and outdoor, which create a welcome oasis for guests.
The renovation includes a dramatic expansion of the popular patio at the hotel's bar, SteeRnorth, inviting guests to experience Austin's natural beauty, including fire pits for year round enjoyment. Guests can enjoy seating under the canopy of the property's large oak trees, which give the space a unique tree-house like feel. Additional renovations include a full redesign of the hotel's restaurant as well as the hotel's 492 guest rooms and suites, which will feature a new bathroom design, fresh finishes throughout the rooms and new furniture pieces, with an emphasis on textures and natural-looking fibers.
