 A $20 Million Renovation is Underway at the 299-room
Omni Mont-Royal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

MONTREAL, Quebec (April 4, 2012) – Omni Hotels & Resorts announced a $20 million renovation at its flagship Montréal hotel, the Omni Mont-Royal, located in the heart of the business district in the Golden Square Mile on historic Sherbrooke Street. The renowned hotel - which opened its doors in 1976 for the Montreal Summer Olympic Games - has begun the transformation to offer its business and leisure clientele the latest in design and comfort.

The Omni Mont-Royal renovation will showcase the sophistication and style of Montreal with designs from Alexandra Champalimaud & Associates, which was originally established in Montreal and was named the 2009 Interior Design Firm by Hotels Magazine. The concept is inspired by the city’s fashionable, dynamic and artistic spirit. Upon arrival, guests will discover a timeless elegance with the perfect blend of elements reminiscent of the original architecture and design along with updated, modern materials, colors and textures. The renovation also includes a new, French-inspired lobby lounge and a fresh concept for the restaurant, Opus Bistro. The facade will also be visually enhanced with a curtain-wall of windows over a number of floors to let natural light into the common spaces.

Started in January 2012, the renovation for the 299 spacious guest rooms and suites, lobby and culinary venues will finish in June. New meeting and event space will be completed in the fall encompassing fifteen multi-purpose meeting rooms, including new furnishings and the latest technology. With more than 21,000 square feet, the Omni Mont-Royal will feature world-class space ideal for major international conferences and important social occasions.
