$65 Million Transformation Nearly Complete for the
1,260-room Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Georgia

March 26, 2012 (Atlanta, GA) - Hyatt Regency Atlanta is completing the final phase of the $65 million transformation that has seen new enhancements made property-wide. The renovation positions the landmark hotel as a leader in Atlanta, with design changes meeting the needs of today's business travelers as well as meeting and conference attendees. The final phase of the renovation project is slated for completion in April.

"Since 1967, the Hyatt Regency Atlanta has serviced meetings and events of all shapes and sizes and we take pride in the history we share with the community," said General Manager Joe Hindsley. "Hyatt Regency Atlanta is the original John Portman-designed contemporary atrium hotel and we are pleased to introduce this transformation."

A landmark downtown Atlanta address, Hyatt Regency Atlanta offers 1,260 guests rooms and 180,000 square feet of meeting, exhibit and event space, including the largest hotel ballroom in the Southeast. The Atlanta office of tvsdesign, an international design firm behind several Hyatt projects, led the public area renovation, while architects Stonehill & Taylor drove the guest room renovation process.

A Soaring Refresh
The transformation of Hyatt Regency Atlanta includes a significant refresh of the hotel's soaring 22-story Atrium Lobby. The entrance area has a clean, open feeling upon arrival with pod-style desks providing an intimate and personalized check-in experience. Custom art created from brass key fob replicas from the original Regency Hyatt House embellish the reception area.

Newly Designed Guest Rooms

Each of the 1,260 guest rooms features new design elements and modern technology including a signature carpet design inspired by the Flora Raris sculpture located in the Atrium Lobby, wall coverings, drapes, artwork, 37-inch, LCD flat-panel televisions with HDTV channels, and iHome Dual alarm clock radios. Energy-efficient fixtures have been added to reduce the hotel's carbon footprint, and bath areas have been updated with new tile flooring, granite vanities, energy-efficient lighting and low-flow toilets.

For Business
Hyatt Regency Atlanta has undertaken a significant refresh of 180,000 square feet of meeting, boardroom, and exhibit space, including modernizing the 29,000 square-foot Centennial Ballroom, the largest hotel ballroom in the state. As a top destination for group and business meetings, the hotel offers a choice of over 60 breakout rooms that cater to business meetings, receptions and networking events. Meals are customized with the talented on-site catering department with menus by Executive Chef Martin Pfefferkorn.

Lucinda Press, ASID, Senior Associate for tvsdesign and Design Coordinator for the Atlanta renovation said, "The transformation of Hyatt Regency Atlanta was initiated to meet the demands of today's group attendees - time-pressed professionals who expect to be able to work from anywhere."

Creative and Regionally Inspired Culinary Options
Hyatt Regency Atlanta introduces three new food-and-beverage concepts on the lobby level, all inspired by regional cuisine and ingredients.

Sample Southern-influenced dining with flair at Sway restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with signature dishes such as the Pimento Cheese Sandwich, Buttermilk Fried Chicken and an all-you-can eat pie buffet

The place to relax after meetings is Twenty Two Storys , which features a beer-forward menu from local Atlanta and Georgia breweries and tells stories of the hotel's history. Beer-influenced dishes include: Beer Cheese Nachos or Georgia Brown Ale Cheese Soup as appetizers and Hefeweizen Steamed Brats and Kraut, Stout Braised Short Ribs and Beer and Honey Glazed Salmon as entrees.  Don't forget to try the Sweetwater 420 Beer Float for dessert.  Two booths with personal beer taps allow guests to be their own bartender.

Busy travelers will find plenty to satisfy at Market, a 24-hour self-serve that carries local treats, snacks, quick meals, and bottles of wine to go.

Club Access
The renovated Regency Club is located on the 22nd floor of the Atrium Tower, which has more than doubled in size to 1,700 square feet with the renovation. The Regency Club level offers private club access and is connected to 33 Club guest rooms. Guests can upgrade their stay to include club access at an additional charge per night and access is complimentary for Diamond Gold Passport members and Courtesy Card holders.

Efficiency in an Eco-Conscious Age
Energy-efficient materials and products are now featured throughout Hyatt Regency Atlanta. LED lighting and Energy Star appliances brighten the new food-and-beverage concepts and modernized, energy-saving elevators and recycling programs have been implemented. Food waste is collected and converted to compost, with 192 tons recycled in 2011. Meanwhile, new low-flow toilets in guest rooms and public spaces are expected to save more than 2.25 million gallons of water annually.
