Groupize, A New
Small Group Travel Planning and Booking
Boston, MA, March 2, 2012 – Booking group travel will now be easier than ever with todays’ beta launch of Groupize.com, a new online service that provides the travel industry’s only automated group hotel booking engine. The service provides users with an easy-to-use experience for instantly securing group rates and checking availability at over 25,000 hotels from coast to coast. Groupize provides a Group’s Page that offers Planning Tools such as an “Evite-like” invitation tool and a central hub for tracking signups and specific modifications to the group.
For organizers of family reunions, weddings, business trips, girl’s weekend getaways, family vacations, sport trips and more, Groupize removes the hassles and challenges of booking group travel. What used to take hours, including long phone calls with hotel reservation desk, signing contracts, inviting friends, arranging credit card payments and coordinating with the group, can now be done in minutes, online with Groupize.
Groupize is launching with a “best rate guarantee,” providing users with the confidence that they will not find better group rates anywhere else on the web. Groupize is forming relationships with major hotel chains, to provide special group discount rates, called Groupize Group Deals, for planners of five rooms or more. With the small group travel industry currently at a $31 billion annual market, Groupize fills the need for a simpler and more cost-effective way for booking and managing group travel.
“In spite of the innovation in other segments of travel, the group travel business has changed very little in recent years. Groupize has been developed from the ground up using the latest technologies to provide a more efficient way of booking group trips, which until now has primarily been done offline or via RFPs,” says Charles de Gaspe Beaubien, President and CEO of Groupize. “By using Groupize, travel planners and hotels can now interact more productively, thus taking the stress out of booking group travel. This is the biggest innovation to the group travel market since the invention of email.”
While other travel sites often do not allow users to book more than five rooms at a time, Groupize allows users to book 5 to 25 rooms via one simple online tool. After submitting a request for a location and date, Groupize will instantly provide users with numerous hotel options near their location. Once the group planner selects a hotel, they can hold a block of rooms and then invite guests to claim their individual room, customize the type of room they prefer and pay with their own credit card. Groupize has developed flexible solutions to lessen the burden on the planners and hotels by automating tedious tasks such as credit card payments, name changes, cancellations, deviations and upgrades.
“Westgate Resorts has partnered with Groupize.com to help group travel planners have an easier way of booking rooms and to provide them with the best group rates available at our properties,” said Dan Spellman, Senior National Sales Manager. “As group travel becomes a bigger part of our overall business, we know that Groupize.com is poised to be a major online player in this booming segment of the market. Groupize will be a valuable partner to Westgate by giving us the opportunity to showcase our group friendly amenities such as kitchens and in room laundry facilities that our condo resort product offers."
Groupize launched in February 2012 to make group travel planning as gratifying as the trip itself. Groupize helps people plan and manage all group travel events—from family reunions to school trips, meetings to sporting events, social outings to girlfriend getaways, bachelor (ette) parties (or mancations) to weddings, and everything in between. With the small group travel category estimated at a $31 billion annual industry, Groupize is well positioned to revolutionize the space with its industry-leading and fully automated website to shop, book and manage group friendly hotels.
