Adam Dyke Appointed as General Manager for Wynyard Hall
Country House Hotel in the Tees Valley in England

March 7, 2012
- ONE of the North East’s leading stately home hotels has announced the appointment of a new general manager to help develop and build on its existing success.

Wynyard Hall Country House Hotel, in the Tees Valley, has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Adam Dyke, who brings 15 years experience in the hospitality industry to the luxury, four-star hotel.

Adam, 33, began his career under the direction of prestigious, Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc and has since enjoyed a number of management roles within hotels throughout Yorkshire, joining Wynyard Hall from the award-winning Yorebridge House hotel in Bainbridge, where he was general manager.

Offering a range of luxury accommodation and facilities,Wynyard Hall is the perfect setting for every occasion, from relaxing leisure breaks to fairytale weddings and the married father of three, from Northallerton, aims to build on its current success.

“I see Wynyard Hall becoming the best hotel in the North East,” he said. “It has an outstanding team of staff across all areas, from the chefs at its two AA rosette Wellington Restaurant, to the trained therapists in its recently-opened £500,000 Spa.

“It also has a clear commitment to the community it serves. Not only does it use local suppliers but it has a strong apprentice scheme and is a keen supporter of local charities.

“Wynyard Hall has some outstanding competition but, as a premier product it is already there.”

One of Adam’s priorities in his new role will be the promotion of Wynyard Hall as a wedding venue. The hotel has a number of function rooms, including the ballroom and beautiful Mirror Room, which can accommodate parties from 15 to 240 guests for birthday or christening parties, wedding receptions or corporate events and stands within 150 acres of picturesque, historical parkland.

Adam said: “This is a dream wedding location – it even boasts its own exquisite chapel – and I intend to make sure it is the premier venue in the North East.”

He also has ambitions for the hotel’s Wellington Restaurant, named after the Duke of Wellington who was just one of many high profile visitors to the Hall.

“I want to see it achieve four red AA stars for service and a third AA Rosette for the dining experience it offers,” he said. “Those are perfectly achievable goals and absolutely within our grasp.”

Allison Antonopoulos, Managing Director of Wynyard Hall, said: “Adam joins us with a proven track record across all areas of the hospitality industry and, importantly, with the passion and commitment needed to ensure Wynyard Hall continues to develop and build on its success.”
