Zachary Frangos Appointed as General Manager
for The 33-suite Sky Lodge in Park City, Utah

(PARK CITY, UT; January 24, 2012)
The Sky Lodge in Park City is a boutique luxury resort recognized by Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s Hot List, Robb Report’s “Best of the Best” list, and most recently by TripAdvisor’s 2012 Travelers' Choice Awards list.  The Sky Lodge welcomes the newly appointed General Manager, Zachary Frangos. He joins the team in January 2012 with an enormous breadth of experience in the hospitality industry—both in the Rocky Mountain region and at exceptional hotels across the country.

Prior to joining The Sky Lodge, Frangos most recently served as opening general manager of Escala Lodge in Park City, part of the Canyons Resort. In 2006, he became vice president of hotel operations/managing partner at Avenue Communities, where he managed a new “urban resort” condominium concept with five separate locations in downtown Park City. Given Frangos’s knowledge of the area and his experience at some of the best properties in the region, he welcomed the opportunity to join The Sky Lodge.

Frangos has also worked as food and beverage director at several institutions, including Peaks Resort and Golden Door Spa in Telluride, CO, Wyndham Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Department Head in food and beverage at the Hyatt in Cherry Hill, NJ, and as assistant restaurant manager at Manhattan’s legendary Plaza Hotel.

Frangos earned a B.S. in hospitality management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI, after earning a culinary arts degree. Looking back, he sees his decision to move from the kitchen to hotel management as a perfect shift for him. “In the hospitality industry, no two days are ever the same, which constantly challenges your creativity,” he says. “I could never imagine myself doing anything else.”
