LVH-Las Vegas Hotel & Casino Doubles Down on Sustainability

The new LVH Project Green Team greens the guest amenities...

Melbourne, Australia January 12, 2012 – Sustainability and green business practices are more than a roll of the dice at the newly renamed LVH-Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (formerly the Las Vegas Hilton). In addition to the initiatives of its Project Green Team, the hotel will now be providing eco-friendly liquids and soaps from Concept Amenities, a global leader in the supply of environmentally responsible guest bath & body amenities.

Since 1969, the LVH has been one of the premier hotels in Las Vegas. Over the years, it has featured such legendary performers as Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand and Liberace. It has also served as a location for numerous television shows and films including the James Bond adventure, Diamonds Are Forever.

In recent years, the LVH-Las Vegas Hotel & Casino has taken the lead among local hospitality providers by revamping its operations to include such green initiatives as switching over to 98% eco-certified cleaning supplies, reducing paper usage through new technologies, using LED lights to reduce energy usage, and processing trash through a recycle belt upon collection.

“At the LVH, we take being ‘green’ seriously,” the hotel told participants when it hosted this year’s ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Winter Conference. “Our Project Green Team has accomplished a lot since 2009 and we look forward to many more green initiatives in the years to come.”

One of those initiatives is the hotel’s new partnership with Concept Amenities. Starting in 2012, each of the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino’s 2956 rooms and 305 suites will be furnished with Concept Amenities’ popular Kudos Spa brand of liquids and soaps in ERP® (Environmentally Responsible Product); a colorful array of 40ml tubes and elegant pleat-wrapped soaps.

“We looked at many different amenity lines before choosing Kudos Spa from Concept Amenities,” said Cami Christensen, vice president of Hotel Operations, LVH. “With a 3000-room hotel, the amount of waste that we can potentially contribute to a landfill each year is staggering.  Therefore, finding a company that shares our deep commitment to minimizing the harmful effects of plastics on the environment was a very important part of our decision.”

Christensen elaborated that equally important to ‘being green’ was providing a high quality amenity to guests at an affordable price for the hotel.  “The appearance, fragrance and packaging can add value to our guest’s experience.  Kudos Spa has the look and feel we were searching for and, the quality our guests have come to expect.”

For nearly 30 years, Concept Amenities has been an innovator in providing the hospitality industry with the best of both worlds – environmentally responsible products and guestroom toiletries that entice and delight hotel guests.

But according to Michael Matulick, Concept Amenities CEO, guest amenities can be so much more than just toiletries: “We’re not just a supplier for the hospitality industry. We’re a trusted partner who plays an integral role in shaping our customers’ brand experiences. We are intrinsically linked to the creation of memorable guest experiences.”
