Pittsburgh, PA –
February 20,
2012 – DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree, the newest
and largest
Pittsburgh-area Hilton Worldwide property is undergoing an extensive
$17
million transformation is to be complete by the end of 2012. Renowned
design firm,
Looney & Associates is creating a fresh contemporary grand
mountain lodge design for the re-branded property. The culinary
offering
will include Seasons The Restaurant, Champions Club and Bistro
Marketplace with
more than 40,000 sq. ft. of event and meeting space, making DoubleTree
by
Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree the freshest option for group business and
events
as well as business and leisure travelers. Leading the redesign of the iconic property, the Looney & Associates team approaches the renovation carefully as the building holds many years of memories of great events and meetings for Pittsburgh natives and visitors to the city. Between rolling countryside, the design captures the essence of a welcoming retreat, exemplifying Southwestern Pennsylvania. The new design features create a comfortable lodge atmosphere on the rim of the bustling Pittsburgh area. The porte cochere creates a warm and welcoming glow greeting guests upon arrival. Contemporary and comfortable furnishings allow for ease of circulation throughout the lobby gathering space. The palette is inspired by the surrounding countryside with rich earth tones and fresh pops of color. The materials used throughout the lobby include warm wood tones and natural stone accents. The new registration desk layout promotes interaction between guests and the staff. The interior design palate represents the four seasons of the mid-Atlantic. The art collection incorporates natural elements through the use of mixed media, prints and photography. An all new expanded fitness center with state-of-the-art professional-grade Precor fitness equipment and media is available to guests. The combination of king, double/double rooms and suites, make up the 460 guest rooms. The guest room palette includes crisp blues, yellows and rich wood tones within a neutral envelope. The organic carpet and fabric patterns add softness against contemporary casegoods. The bathroom offers a crisp, modern feel with plentiful space for storage and toiletries. Bold nature inspired photography adorns guestrooms and corridors. The free flowing corridor carpet design creates a graceful juxtaposition within the linear pathways of the property. Offering an array of dining options, DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree entices guests from the lobby with an open entry layout into Champions Club. The lounge provides casual upscale food and libations for guests staying in the “City of Champions.” The sports bar offers an enhanced media wall covered in paneled large flat-screen T.V.s. enticing the avid sports fan cheering on their winning team and displaying current world events. Champions Club has a relaxed atmosphere with a variety of seating accommodating both the individual traveler and small groups. Seasons The Restaurant, DoubleTree by Pittsburgh-Green Tree’s flagship dining establishment offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant was designed with natural elements in mind. The menu will evolve just as the seasons of the year, with seasonal fresh vegetables, fruits and meats. For on-the-go options, Bistro Marketplace presents a fresh European styled menu and casual cafe experience with high-tech connectivity and flexible seating. The café palette offers light wood tones and bold colors to create a fun, inviting space to start the day. DoubleTree By Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree provides the ideal business, conference, meeting and group setting with more than 40,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting, banquet or party space in a fresh and soon-to-be renovated atmosphere. Updated meeting rooms include soothing neutrals and deep blues creating a sophisticated space for business engagements. The new business center will offer guests individual workstations, printing and faxing capabilities. “We couldn’t be more pleased with the incredible design created for DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree,” says Ira Mitzner of RIDA Development Corporation, owner of the transformed resort. “Jim and his team really captured the important features of functionality while mixing in an upscale, inviting experience of Pittsburgh charm into every corner of the hotel redesign.” DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree is located between Pittsburgh International Airport and only minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, a central location with the easy accessibility to both, as well as downtown Pittsburgh attractions like sports stadiums, the Andy Warhol Museum and David L.
