Chef Robert Rothfus Jr. Named Executive Chef for the Lancaster County
Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square

LANCASTER, Pa., Oct. 17, 2011 -- The Lancaster County Convention Center and Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square hotel is pleased to announce that Chef Robert Rothfus Jr. has been appointed executive chef. Prior to his promotion, Rothfus served for 2-1/2 years as chef for the Penn Square Grille & Rendezvous Lounge at the Lancaster hotel.

About Chef Robert Rothfus Jr.

A graduate of the famed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and a resident of Millersville, Pa., Rothfus brings fresh creativity and culinary leadership to his role as executive chef for the Lancaster County Convention Center and Marriott at Penn Square. Prior to his current role and his 2-1/2 years as chef for the Lancaster restaurant, Rothfus served as executive chef at The Cove Fishery and Grill and The Stockyard Inn in Lancaster; Liquid Assets in Ocean City, Maryland; and Tides Inn by the Sea in Kennebunkport, Maine.

His vast experience includes seasonal menu development and utilization of fresh local ingredients. His specialties include American and International Cuisine, butchering, charcuterie, seafood, menu planning, banquet planning, sugar arts, ice sculpting, wines and cheeses.

The work of Rothfus has been featured in numerous publications including Metropolitan Magazine, The Washington Post, Restaurant Digest, Resort Life, Chesapeake Life, Style Magazine, Wine Spectator, Baltimore Magazine, Food and Drink, Southern Living, Susquehanna Style Magazine, Fine Living Lancaster, Lancaster Magazine, and Local Flavor.
