HFTP to Celebrate 60th Anniversary at 2012 Annual Convention
& Tradeshow in Orlando, Florida

AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA (October 21, 2011) — As Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) winds down its 2011 Annual Convention & Tradeshow in Atlanta this week, it looks forward to its 60th Anniversary celebration next year in Orlando, Fla. The association will commemorate the special year with a celebratory Annual Convention & Tradeshow on October 17– 20 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.

“The strength of HFTP has always been due to the dedication and support from its membership,” said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. “The association couldn’t have evolved into a world-class group like it has without their continued input, and there is no better way to honor this momentous year than with a big gathering where we do what we do best — offering a combination of education and celebration.”

With roots dating back to 1925, HFTP formed as a national organization in 1952 as the National Association of Hotel Accountants with the support of individual state hotel accountant associations. It has since existed under several names as the group adjusted to a changing industry. It finally came to be known as HFTP in 1997 when it folded in technology professionals within its membership.

With a network of 4,300 members worldwide, HFTP has become a global association offering professional support and educational opportunities. The association is known for its premiere event, the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC, est. in 1972) and two hospitality specific designations, the Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE, est. 1981) and the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP, est. 1994).

HFTP's Annual Convention & Tradeshow is a one-stop shop for hospitality-related education and networking. The convention's education program offers industry-specific, concurrent session tracks — club, hotel, general, technology and PCI compliance. In addition, the tradeshow gathers over 40 companies who represent a wide variety of products and services for clubs, hotels, resorts, accounting firms and other hospitality-related businesses.

HFTP, Austin, Texas, USA and Maastricht, The Netherlands, founded in 1952, is the global professional association for financial and technology personnel working in hotels, clubs and other hospitality-related businesses. HFTP provides first class educational opportunities, research, and publications to members around the globe including, the premiere hospitality technology conference HITEC--founded in 1972.
