Consortium
announced that P/Kaufmann has joined the Consortium as a Founding
Member. A leader in the

Kaufmann’s membership furthers the Consortium’s goals of establishing
the Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Index (HSP Index)
as the de facto performance measurement solution for industry
suppliers.
With more than 4.5 million hotel rooms in the U.S., fabrics and textiles are significant investments for hotels, brands and owners – and as a central element of design, they have a substantial impact on the guest experience and the environmental footprint of a hotel. “P/Kaufmann is excited to continue our policy of developing and engineering products to high standards that best meet the needs of our customers and have a positive impact in cleanability, durability and the environment”, said Curtis Breedlove, President of P/Kaufmann CONTRACT. P/Kaufmann and the HSPC The Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Consortium (HSPC), created and led by MindClick SGM™, is a collaborative organization to help hotel owners purchase products that both reduce their properties’ environmental impact, and contribute to guest comfort, health and well-being. P/Kaufmann, along with other Consortium members, will help establish criteria for creation of a new Hospitality Sustainable Purchasing Index (HSPI). The Index will include measures of corporate social responsibility, environmental and product sustainability. Product categories covered include furnishings, fixtures and equipment (FF&E), and operating supplies and equipment (OS&E).
