Nov. 11, 2011--The 465-room Radisson Hotel in Green Tree now has a new owner, will get a new name and $16 million complete renovation of the hotel facilities. The new owner, RIDA Development Corp. of Houston, Tex., will change the hotel's brand name to Doubletree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree, complete the renovation by the fall of 2012. This is RIDA's first venture into the Pittsburgh market. The $33,000-per-room renovation will revamp guestrooms and suites, change the entryway leading to the completely updated lobby; update all public spaces, modernize the hotel's two full-service restaurants, sports bar, marketplace, health club and 26 meeting rooms, a grand ballroom and a junior ballroom. The hotel will be the fifth Doubletree by Hilton in the Pittsburgh region.
