Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino Rehires its Very First Employee,
Geraldine Coutinho-Meyers, as the Associate Director of Sales

PALM BEACH, ARUBA (November 7, 2011) – Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino announced the appointment of Geraldine Coutinho-Meyers as the new Associate Director of Sales of Aruba’s premier beachfront property.  As the resort’s first employee, Coutinho returns to the Hyatt family with a familiarity and passion for the property.  As the Associate Director of Sales, Coutinho will play an instrumental role in further enhancing Hyatt Regency Aruba as the resort undergoes exciting upgrades. Coutinho will work directly with the Director of Sales for the Hyatt Caribbean Resorts and the Sales Managers in the United States and Aruba.

Meyers began her career at the Golden Tulip in Aruba and then accepted a position at Hyatt Regency Aruba when it opened 21 years ago, making her the first employee at the resort.  While at Hyatt Regency Aruba, she used her keen insight into the industry and her professional wit and wisdom to gain the trust of meeting planners and key industry partners from around the world.  Her accomplishments did not go unnoticed and in 2007 she was asked by the government to lead the Aruba Tourism Authority’s office in the United States, where she represented the island of Aruba to North America.

“We welcome back Geraldine and are excited to have her rejoin us at Hyatt Regency Aruba,” said Fred Hoffmann, General Manager.  “Her knowledge of the property, experience with the Aruba Tourism Authority and strong sales background makes her the perfect fit for the Associate Director of Sales position.”

The Aruban-born Coutinho received her degree in Business Administration in The Netherlands.
