Andrea Carneiro Named as Director of Sales and Marketing
for The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, Mexico

PUNTA MITA, Mexico (November 1, 2011) – Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Latin America Division today announced that Andrea Carneiro has joined The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort as director of sales and marketing.  With more than a decade of experience in the Mexican luxury hospitality industry, Carneiro is an ideal candidate to enhance the resort’s sales and marketing strategies toward increasing revenue. In her new role, Carneiro will be tasked with developing and implementing innovative initiatives to boost awareness, sales, and market share while simultaneously garnering new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets.

Throughout the span of her career, Carneiro has focused on sales and marketing within the luxury hospitality industry.  Prior to joining The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort, Carneiro served as the director of sales and marketing for Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, where she increased market share in existing markets and maximized new business development opportunities in emerging markets.  Previously, Carneiro spent five years at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, where she grew from sales manager to director of sales.  Carneiro has held sales and operations positions at a variety of additional hotels and resorts throughout Mexico.  Carneiro completed her undergraduate education in business at Fundação Getulio Vargas in São Paulo, Brazil.  She continued her business education at Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Pau in Pau, France followed by a degree from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Lausanne, Switzerland, the oldest hotel school in the world.
