MetWest Terra Hospitality Appoints Stefan Mühle as General Manager
of the 63-room Casa Madrona in Sausalito, California

December 6, 2011 (Sausalito, California)
MetWest Terra Hospitality has announced the appointment of Stefan Mühle as General Manager of Casa Madrona in Sausalito, California. Bringing extensive hospitality experience earned at properties in the San Francisco Bay area, Mühle is responsible for all operations at the historic, 63-room address overlooking Richardson Bay.

"Hospitality professionals of Stefan's caliber are few and far between. We're delighted to welcome him to Sausalito and our newly renovated hotel," said Jamie Yarrow, President of MetWest Terra, manager of Casa Madrona. "We're confident that under Stefan's leadership, we will continue to see Casa Madrona grow in 2012 and beyond into the premiere boutique hotel in Sausalito."

A graduate of Washington State University, where he earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Hotel & Restaurant Management and Business Administration, Mühle has spent the past two decades gaining impressive experience through a variety of hotel management positions.

Following college, Mühle joined The Drake Hotel, a landmark Chicago property, where he rose from Assistant Manager to Director of Catering Sales. He then headed west, landing in the Sierra Foothills as Director of Food & Beverage for Ironstone Winery in Murphys, California. Over a yearlong tenure, Mühle increased F&B revenues at the state's 17th largest - and fastest-growing - winery by 23 percent.

Mühle joined Coastal Hotel Group in 2000 as the Food and Beverage Director at the Bishop's Lodge in Santa Fe, New Mexico.   In 2001, he became General Manager of The Orchard Hotel in San Francisco, managed by Portfolio Hotels & Resorts. Under his leadership, the city's first LEED-certified hotel became one of the highest-rated properties in town, consistently ranking among the top 5 percent of its 240 peers on TripAdvisor. As opening General Manager of the sister Orchard Garden Hotel in 2006, he replicated that management success before becoming Regional Director of Portfolio Hotels & Resort's three Bay Area properties, including the Harvest Inn in Napa Valley, in 2008.

Born and raised Germany, Mühle holds dual German and American citizenship. He maintains affiliations with the Boutique and Lifestyle Lodging Association, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce and the United States Green Building Council, among others. He resides in San Francisco.
