James Roberts Appointed as Hotel Manager for
Hotel Duval in Tallahassee, Florida

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – December 13, 2011
– Hotel Duval, a style icon and the first and only boutique hotel in Tallahassee, proudly announces the addition of James Roberts as Hotel Manager in charge of day-to-day hotel operations.

As Hotel Manager, Roberts is responsible for managing hotel staff, fostering guest relations and supervising various aspects of the hotel’s offerings including Shula’s 347 Grill, LeRoc Bistro and Level 8 rooftop lounge.

“We are delighted to have James join us and think he brings the perfect mix of experience and enthusiasm to the property, says Marc Bauer, Managing Partner of Hunter & Harp Hospitality. “James’s knowledge and passion for northwest Florida is evident and we believe his attention to detail will continue to elevate our hotel experience.”

Roberts comes to Hotel Duval from the Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village in Destin, Fla., where he served as Rooms Division Manager and acting General Manager in the absence of the Chief Operating Officer.  Prior to joining the Emerald Grande team, Roberts worked on the resort operations team for Wyndham Vacation Resorts. During his time with Wyndham, Roberts assisted in the opening of a newly-acquired 260-unit property, training and developing the guest services department.

Roberts has been in the hospitality industry for most of his life and formally began his hotel career as a valet attendant at Harrah’s St. Louis in St. Louis, Mo. He quickly found the service aspect of hospitality enjoyable and decided to pursue a profession in the industry.

“I am thrilled to be in Tallahassee and love the idea of working with a boutique property that has created an escape in and of itself,” says Roberts. “Hotel Duval has fostered a widespread reputation for service and community involvement - two things highly regarded in my personal philosophy.”

Home to Shula’s 347 Grill, a sports-style steakhouse offering “The Best Beef that Money Can Buy,” flows seamlessly with the vibe and décor of the property. Hotel Duval’s signature restaurant presents options of gourmet salads, fresh fish and exclusive Premium Black Angus Beef Burgers and Shula Cut Steaks. Hosting a street-level café, LeRoc Bistro, which features Starbucks coffee and locally grown and sourced food is open for breakfast and lunch. Level 8 is the only rooftop lounge of its kind from Atlanta to South Beach. Comprising both open-air and indoor elements, Level 8 showcases panoramic views of the capital city with live entertainment.

With distinctive design, amenities and approachable luxury, Hotel Duval brings vibrant energy to Florida’s capital. Functions for groups of 10 to 250 people are available among more than 7,500 square feet of meeting space. The flexible layout of the space is spread throughout eight unique rooms and a stunning rooftop Horizon Ballroom. Hotel Duval offers refreshing venues with an outstanding service staff and lavish catering options.
