Paris,
September 7, 2011 - Louvre Hotels Group, a global player in the
hotel sector, is pursuing its ambitious growth strategy both in France
and internationally. Since January 2011, Louvre Hotels Group has opened
42 new hotels, the equivalent of
over 4,000 new rooms.
These hotel openings are part of the Group’s expansion strategy, which
calls for a hundred hotel openings a year on average over the next five
years.
These new openings bolster the Group’s strategy of strengthening its
presence in countries where it is already well established, including France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy,
and continuing its development in fast-growing markets like India and Asia in general, but also in Brazil, Africa and the Middle East.
Historical
markets
The Group opened 18 hotels in France,
including six new Kyriad hotels, nine Première Classe hotels,
two Campanile hotels and one Golden Tulip hotel. In the future, the
Group intends to pursue its intensive growth strategy in France with 12
hotels – including eight under management contracts – currently under
construction, the equivalent of over 1,100 rooms. Recently, the Group
also won bids to tender for the Montpellier ZAC Gare St Roch and
Euralille property developments, which are scheduled to open in 2013.
In Belgium, a hotel
strategically located near both the airport and the downtown area was
transferred to the Golden Tulip trade name. In the Netherlands, Louvre Hotels Group
opened a new Golden Tulip hotel. In Italy,
the Group has two new hotels, a Golden Tulip and a Tulip Inn, that will
bolster its presence in the country. In Turin, Louvre Hotels Group has
also switched a Campanile hotel to the Tulip Inn trade name.
Fast-growing markets
India is the top priority
of Louvre Hotels Group in 2011. The Group already has eight hotels in
India, including three Golden Tulip hotels and two Tulip Inn hotels
which have been opened since the beginning of the year. The Group’s
goal is to open roughly ten hotels a year over the next five years.
Seven new hotels will open for business by the end of 2011. Louvre
Hotels Group also plans to raise funds to finance its ambitious
development plans in this extremely high potential market.
In Asia in general, Louvre
Hotels Group plans to open over 40 hotels in the years ahead, notably
in Southeast Asia and China. This year the Group has opened the Golden
Tulip Sovereign Hotel and Golden Tulip Mandison Suite, both located in
Bangkok, Thailand.
Banking heavily on growth in the Latin American countries, the Group
opened three new Tulip Inn hotels in Brazil,
lifting the Louvre Hotels Group from sixth to third place in just three
years, thanks to an exclusive partnership with BHG. It will open its
450-room flagship hotel in Rio by the end of 2011 under the Royal Tulip
trade name.
With over 40 hotels in the Middle East,
the Group is pursuing its development by opening two new hotels in
Saudi Arabia, a Tulip Inn in Oman, and a Golden Tulip in the United
Arab Emirates.
Lastly, Louvre Hotels Group opened a Tulip Inn and Golden Tulip in Tunisia, and is opening a new Golden
Tulip in Porthacourt, Nigeria.
