HFTP Greater New Orleans Chapter to Host an Educational Seminar

September 23, 2011 at the New Orleans Convention Center

AUSTIN, TEXAS USA (September 7, 2011) – Providing quality education at a regional level, the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) Greater New Orleans chapter is hosting a half-day educational seminar for hospitality finance and technology professionals in the region. The seminar is Friday, September 23 at the New Orleans Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

The seminar includes two sessions with the ability to earn up to four CPE credits. First, Jo Anna Schillaci, CHTP, food and beverage controller at Boca West Club, Inc. and frequent speaker on food and beverage, will be speaking on how to find cost savings in food and beverage by hunting for hidden costs in areas often overlooked. Next, Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP and inductee into the International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame, will discuss how technology impacts operations today and in the future. He will be covering issues like social networking, PCI compliance and guestroom technology.

"In an economy where it is often hard to get approval to travel for education, HFTP realizes the importance of quality education in local areas," said Wolfe. "Many HFTP chapters offer exceptional education on a local level and HFTP Global is happy to support this movement."

"New Orleans has a broad hospitality community which services guests year-round from all over the world," said Bob Oprea, CHAE, CHTP, controller at La Pavillion Hotel and seminar organizer. "It is important for us to not only provide guests with the rich cultural experience that they expect when they visit New Orleans, but to do so at an optimal level using the most current industry practices. Having speakers like Ms. Schillaci and Mr. Wolfe gives area hospitality professionals an insightful perspective on best practices from people who speak on these topics all over the world."
