Marriott Richmond West End in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va., July 11th, 2011  - - The Residence Inn by Marriott Richmond West End today announced the completion of a $1 million renovation to the 80-suite hotel located at 2121 Dickens Road.

Each of the suites was completely updated with new flooring, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, new beds and bedding, new furnishings, lighting, doors, artwork and wireless fire monitoring.  The property is operated by Island Hospitality Management, Inc., an independent third-party management company, which also oversaw the renovation process.

“This renovation restores our hotel to ‘like new’ condition and makes us the newest, freshest property in this market,” said Jonathan Greene, general manager.  “The Residence Inn concept is the leader in the extended-stay hotel category and is ideal for people who stay five nights or longer, like consultants, relocating families or those traveling with large groups, such as soccer and other youth sports teams.  Our suites have extra space and full kitchens that provide more of a home-like ambiance.  Our hotel also is perfectly located to host our neighborhood’s business travelers, as well as leisure travelers visiting our city’s numerous historic sites and attractions.”

The Residence Inn by Marriott West End is located off Broad and Dickens, across from Genworth Financial and down the street from Altria.

Residence Inn amenities include: complimentary full hot breakfast, complimentary evening hospitality hours, complimentary WIFI and in-room, high-speed Internet access.  At the West End property, a fitness center, basketball and volleyball courts, business center, outdoor pool, free grocery delivery service and on-site laundry facilities are additional highlights.
