Marriott International Opens 413-room JW Marriott Hotel Ankara
in Turkey Managed by Ozkar Insaat A.S.

- Marriott International’s world-class luxury hotel brand, JW Marriott, today celebrates the opening of its first hotel in Turkey, the JW Marriott Hotel Ankara under a management agreement with Ozkar Insaat A.S.

The striking 24-story, 413-room luxury hotel, designed in a rich palate of colored glass, is expected to quickly become a towering landmark in Turkey’s vibrant capital city.  Conveniently located in the heart of the political and business center of Ankara, the JW Marriott Ankara offers easy access from Ankara Esenboga Airport, convention and conference venues, Ankara culture and education centers and archaeological sites.

To celebrate the opening of the hotel, the JW Marriott Ankara is offering a special introductory rate for a deluxe room including breakfast for two and internet access from 329 TRY ($200 USD) per night from 1 August to 10 September 2011.

Guestrooms

JW Marriott Ankara’s 413 guestrooms offer the ultimate in  relaxed elegance and luxury including bedding featuring 300-thread-count Turkish cotton linens,  marble baths (over 11,365 square meters of marble was used in constructing the hotel) with deep soaking tubs, separate showers, and the latest in-room technology including 40-inch Philips LED televisions.

Boasting 75 executive rooms and 25 executive suites, executive level  guests will have access to a lounge  located on 22nd floor offering complimentary breakfast, all day snacks and beverage service, afternoon tea, evening hors d’ oeuvres and dessert, a business center and boardroom.

The hotel’s two premier suites are each 130 square meters large and the two presidential suites are 187 square meters each, offering private access, separate dining room and kitchen as well as optional butler service. For the ultimate experience in luxury, the JW Ankara’s Royal Griffin Suite is a grand 439 square meters large featuring a super king size bed, private fitness room, library, Jacuzzi, as well as private dining room with optional butler service.

Meeting Space

With more than 4,550 square meters of flexible meeting space, much of which boasts beautiful natural light, the JW Marriott Ankara is set to become a premier meetings and events center in the city.

A dazzling grand ballroom featuring 1,278 square meters of space with soaring ceilings and magnificent Czech crystal chandeliers is the ultimate location for any wedding or social event. In addition, the hotel’s outdoor terrace is one of the largest outdoor function spaces in Ankara.

Spa & Fitness Center

The 3,430 square meter Karma Spa Wellness & Fitness is the hotel’s signature spa and fitness facility. Boasting both indoor and outdoor pools, the spa’s focal point is its stunning authentic Turkish Hammam. The spa’s signature treatment “Kese” is performed on a marble pinth in the Hammam, including a exfoliation treatment applied with silk kese, followed by a relaxing massage using  Turkish oils. A VIP spa area with private hammam is available for the ultimate in relaxation for individuals or small groups.

Dining

Chefs at the JW Marriott Ankara partner with local artisans, organic farmers and sustainable fisheries to deliver authentic cuisine inspired by the region throughout the hotel’s bars and restaurants.

JW Steakhouse, the signature steakhouse of JW Marriott Hotels with locations in London, Dubai and Bucharest, will offer prime steaks, fresh seafood and carefully selected wine through JW Marriott’s Wine Ambassador program.

For authentic Turkish fare, guests can enjoy Fires & Flavors, serving both traditional Turkish and International cuisine. The hotel’s Lobby Lounge will offer traditional afternoon tea as well as casual snacks, sandwiches and drinks throughout the day and night.

To take in the views of the stunning hills of Ankara, the Sky Vue Lounge and Terrace on the hotel’s 22nd floor is an upscale bar serving fine spirits and specialty beers as well as handcrafted fresh juice cocktails and an extensive list of wines from around the world, featuring nightly modern jazz entertainment. For a more casual experience, Velocity Sports & Entertainment is a high-adrenaline sports bar offering well-crafted food offerings, a diverse beer selection, and custom cocktails.
