—The International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF)
organisers, in partnership with Hotel Analyst and Hotel Management
magazines,
are pleased to announce “The IHIF Awards”, the ceremony for which will
take
place in London this November. Nominations have opened up for
these
brand-new awards comprised of Investor and Advisor award categories to
celebrate the achievers in the hotel investment community in Europe.
The awards
will offer an opportunity for the industry to recognise the best in
class for
each category. “One unique feature of the awards is that senior figures involved in the European hotel industry will have an opportunity to vote for the winners,” said Andrew Sangster, Editor, Hotel Analyst. “Each of the 10 category winners will thus have been judged by their peers which lends solid credibility to the award winners and the awards in general." Each nomination will be judged for what was achieved between 1st July 2010 and 30th June 2011. To qualify for the shortlist, the judges will be looking for evidence of exceptional achievement by the nominee and a demonstration that the nominee has made a contribution to the industry outside the norm. The two judging panels will meet in early September and the shortlists will be announced in the latter half of September when voting will open for two weeks. Individuals who belong to firms qualifying as investors will be able to vote for the five Adviser categories and advisers will be able to vote for the five Investor categories. Investors are deemed to be businesses that deploy equity capital in the hotel business. Hotel operating companies are also classed as investors but debt financiers, if their primary business is not focused on supplying equity capital, are classified as advisers. “We’re thrilled to add these prestigious awards as a new component of IHIF 2012 and recognise the outstanding leaders we have in the industry,” stated Tess Pearson, Event Director, International Hotel Investment Forum. “As the world’s largest gathering for the global hotel investment community, the awards are a natural extension of our conference.
