News for the Hospitality Executive
Boutique Design New York (BDNY) has issued a Call for Entries for TREND WALK, a showcase of five future hospitality design trends that will take center stage at BDNY 2011 and the adjacent International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS).
Curated by internationally-renowned designer and forecaster Stacy Garcia, TREND WALK will provide some 5,000 BDNY attendees with a glimpse at the future of hospitality design. Designers are being challenged to interpret and create a design reflecting one of the following Stacy Garcia trends; Acid Hip, Calcified, Modern Rustic, Garden Party, Wild Corners of the World, Speakeasy, Dark Fairytale, and Mid-century Ideal. The top five displays will be chosen, each showcasing a different trend, and will incorporate products exclusively from BDNY and IHMRS exhibitors. Trend descriptions and visuals are available here.
Designers and design firms from around the world are encouraged to enter. Each of the five winning trends will be provided with 15’x15’ of floor space at BDNY 2011, including 10’ high white walls and a production installation budget of up to $7,000. In addition, the winning design firms and trends will be featured in Boutique Design and Hospitality Style magazines, as well as an accompanying trend brochure for attendees.
Submissions are due July 31, 2011. Further details and the Official Entry Form are available at www.bdny.com.
