23, 2011) – Kenan Simmons,
vice president of sales, the Americas for The Leading Hotels of the
World,
Ltd., has announced the appointment of Patrick T. Smith to the position
of
senior director of group sales in North America for the organization.
Based in the company’s Chicago office, Mr. Smith will be responsible
for
the Midwest US and Eastern Canada group market segments and will lead
the group
sales teams for North America promoting travel to over 400 luxury
properties in
over 80 countries within The Leading
Hotels of the World portfolio.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Simmons noted, “Patrick’s
leadership,
experience and reputation in the group travel market will continue to
strengthen and elevate the position of Leading Hotels in this key
segment.
Patrick has made a very positive impact on our organization since he
began his
tenure with us in late 2010. He is well suited to spearhead LHW’s
North

all kinds of one-of-a- kind experiences.”
Mr. Smith brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality
industry to his current role. Most recently, he served for over a
decade with
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in a variety of sales roles, including
as a
member of the Chicago Worldwide Sales team of Four Seasons
Hotels and
Resorts.
He received his Bachelors Degree in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional
Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and
resides in the
Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago.
