Britannia Pacific Properties Granted Right to Build
a Geothermally Heated Hotel Project
in Mammoth Lakes, California

(August, 2011)  - Britannia Pacific Properties, a Lewis Trust Group company, has made its mark investing and developing “best in class” hotels and commercial properties throughout the U.S..  The Lewis Trust Group has over 30 years of experience in the travel and leisure business conceptualizing and implementing one-of-a-kind projects worldwide. Britannia Pacific Properties today announces that the town of Mammoth Lakes has granted entitlements to build an innovative hotel and residences project called “Handmade Hotel Mammoth View”. With an extensive portfolio of properties, Britannia Pacific Properties has now set their sights on driving business and providing jobs to the town of Mammoth Lakes with their latest initiative, a 5.51-acre project which will feature geothermal heating for purposes of encouraging conservation of natural resources.  Handmade Hotel Mammoth View will be an entirely new concept for the hospitality market in the small but lively mountain town: an expansive eco-friendly 54 room boutique hotel and 52 residences consisting of 28 eco cabins and 24 eco lofts.  This project will turn dynamic and relatively untapped Mammoth into a worldwide year-round destination.

After an extensive drilling process to test groundwater temperatures, Britannia Pacific Properties discovered that the groundwater heat levels achieved make heating the project utilizing geothermal resources viable.

“Mammoth’s amazing natural resources, particularly the hot springs, inspired us to research ways to utilize them for the good of the environment.” Said Eva Hill, President of Britannia Pacific Properties. “We are ecstatic to begin to build this unique project and hope that Handmade Hotel Mammoth View will blaze the trail for future developments.”

Drawing inspiration from the stunning natural landscape, the project will feature other “green” design elements and eco-friendly components including meeting 50% of its irrigation water demand from reclaimed snowmelt and rain runoff, saving 50% of the mature trees on-site and utilizing reclaimed timber harvested from the site.  Innovative food and beverage offerings, a gear room, pool and spa are inimitable amenities. Britannia Pacific Properties will provide jobs to and integrate with the local community in conceptualizing and putting into effect unique year-round programming.
