ATLANTA, GA (August 25, 2011) – Hotel Equities (www.hotelequities.com) recently named Gary Faehr the General Manager for the 118-room Hampton Inn Jacksonville Downtown I-95 in Florida.  Mr. Faehr will provide leadership and manage the hotel through an extensive renovation.   It is part of the revitalization efforts in the Southbank district of downtown Jacksonville.

Mr. Faehr has responsibility for overseeing all financial and management operations of the hotel including hiring and training the associates, meeting budget goals and representing the company in the community.

“Gary brings an outstanding background and a wealth of experience in management to our hotel,” said Tamara Markham, Vice President of Operations for Hotel Equities.  “We welcome his leadership as we begin a major renovation of the hotel.  Our guests and our associates will benefit from his expertise.”

With more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, Mr. Faehr came to Hotel Equities from Indianapolis, Indiana where he served as General Manager of a Hilton Garden Inn.  Through his work at that hotel, he participated in the successful revitalization of downtown Indianapolis.

Previous positions include Director of Finance at the 21C Museum Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, Director of Finance for the Marriott Hotel in Louisville, and positions with Omni Hotels and White Lodging Services where he earned the Manager of the Quarter award on three occasions.  Community-minded, Mr. Faehr has participated actively in the Chamber of Commerce in each city where he has worked.

A native of Indiana and a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Mr. Faehr follows the Indianapolis Colts football team in his free time.  His interests include, camping, boating, working out and playing pickup basketball.
