Aug. 13, 2011--A Missouri-based development company plans to construct a 73-room, three-story Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott on West Pullman Road in Moscow. The proposed construction site, 936 W. Pullman Road, was the home of Karl Tyler Motors before it closed in 2009 and was subsequently demolished. "Once we get a permit to build from the city, (construction will) take about 10 months," said John Ferguson, president and founder of Ferguson Hotel Development in Liberty, Mo. The company is operating as Moscow Hotel Partners 1, LP, within Idaho. He said the company intends to submit plans to the city of Moscow within the next 60 days. "The city's been very receptive to our project, and we are really excited about getting in the Moscow market," he said. "It's a very strong little community, and we want to be there." He said the 73 hotel rooms will be decorated with photographs from around the area, including the University of Idaho. "We will try to incorporate the university colors and things in order to give it local flavor," he said. The hotel will also feature a conference room and indoor pool. Ferguson said the total cost of the project is yet to be determined. ----- To see more of the Moscow-Pullman Daily News or to subscribe to the newspaper, go to http://www.dnews.com.
