Orlando, Florida, August 2011—Shelly Siceloff-Weir has been appointed to the position of Senior Director of State Relations & Educational Programs for the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI). She comes to AHLEI from the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA), where she served in a number of leadership positions during her nine-year tenure at the association. Most recently, Siceloff-Weir held the position of Director of Membership, where she oversaw the growth and development of membership sales, retention and corporate sponsorship for FRLA. Prior to that, she served as Regional Director of Central Florida and was responsible for overseeing an eight county region for the association and the creation of local chapters and corporate partnerships. Siceloff-Weir’s background includes extensive experience in sales, marketing, event management and partnership development. In her new role as Senior Director of State Relations & Educational Programs, Siceloff-Weir will be responsible for the management of all activities and programs related to the marketing and sales of AHLEI products to state hospitality associations, secondary schools, and workforce development agencies. She will be working closely with state association executives and their offices in order to grow their relationship with AHLEI, and will work to develop programs that will be mutually beneficial to AHLEI and the state associations. Siceloff-Weir holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs from Florida State University, and is currently pursuing her MBA from Auburn University. She is a founding member of both the AH&LA Women in Lodging and Under 30 Gateway chapters in Florida, and is a member of the International Society of Hotel Association Executives (ISHAE).
