IHG Opens Global Sales Office in Mumbai and New Delhi, India


New Delhi, India, May 30 2011 -
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE:IHG (ADRs)], the world’s largest hotel group by number of rooms, today announced the opening of its Global Sales Office (GSO) in India. Located in New Delhi and Mumbai, the GSO will allow IHG to drive increased business efficiency, better serve its key clients and bring the strength of IHG’s global scale to this fast growing market.
 
India presents an exciting growth market for IHG with strong demand across all segments. Given the robust outlook for India’s tourism and hospitality industry, the GSO will address India’s increasing outbound tourism market. The GSO will offer IHG’s key clients in India a single point of contact to access its global hotel inventory of over 650,000 rooms (more than 4,400 hotels) across seven different brands. This powerful platform gives clients a variety of hotel products in over a 100 countries and territories across multiple segment categories.

IHG customers can expect a seamless experience when they establish contact with the GSO through staff who are fully trained and equipped to meet their hotel, conference or meetings needs.

IHG currently operates 12 hotels in key Indian cities and has a development pipeline of 46 hotels in key business and leisure hubs. Overall, we are on track to have a 150-hotel presence by 2020.
