Hotel Technologies Debuts Space Saving Alarm Clock Radio with iPad Docking

In order to give hotel guests a wider range of docking, charging and listening options
while in their rooms, Hotel Technologies debuts its HiD37

Rahway, N.J. (May 17, 2011) – Hotels that haven't updated their in-room electronics and amenities packages over the past three to five years can now do so easily with the HiD37 from Hotel Technologies, a new Alarm Clock Radio that is designed with iPad and iPad2 in mind but also supports docking, charging and listening to iPod® and iPhone. The unit is now available and offers guests the option to wake to their personal music selections on their iPad/iPad2, iPhone and iPod. It also features an additional USB charging port to accommodate their other personal mobile devices.
"In-room electronics that have not been changed over the last five years are in need of an upgrade," said Ely Ashkenazi, National Sales Manager. "Hotels that are just beginning to catch up to supporting the Apple iPod and iPhone in guestrooms are behind on what today's travelers are demanding: support for their mobile toy of choice -- the iPad. Because the iPad has universal appeal and is fast becoming an integral part of many travelers lives for business email, presentations or entertainment, Hotel Technologies has expanded its line to include iPad/iPad2 compatible devices for 2011."
Apple® financial results for its fiscal 2011 first quarter that ended December 25, 2010 report the company sold 7.33 million iPads during the period.

Known for bringing "the science of feeling at home™" to hotels and guests, Hotel Technologies has always included hard-wired line-in plugs on its iHome™ hospitality solutions that support playing music from any device with a headphone jack. The company is more amply known, however, for its ability to charge and play Apple® docking units.
"Adapting in-room electronics to support iPad charging has been a challenge for many companies because even though they have the same 30-pin connectors as iPods and iPhones, the iPad/iPad2 requires a beefed-up amperage (from 1.0 to 2.1) to accommodate the iPad -- with or without its case," Ashkenazi said. "We not only designed a creative system that can accommodate the iPad/iPad2, but it also features the same patented Single Day Alarm technology, automatic updates for Daylight Savings Time, battery backup and theft deterrent lanyards. Rather than making retail products fit a hospitality environment, we have designed and manufactured a new solution that is a perfect fit for the hotelier and guest's needs."
Music to the Ears, Pleasing to the Eyes
The HiD37 is the iHome™ with app enhancement and works with our free iHome™+Sleep app offering custom wake-up settings, social media updates and weather alerts. The unit contains all of the same features as the previous iHome™ models, including a volume-limiting switch to match maximum output to room size, pre-set / never set the time again, written instructions on the cabinet for ease of use, gentle Wake Alarm that wakes sleepers gradually with increasing volume, 3 digital FM presents, snooze/dimmer button, Sure Alarm Battery Backup and more.
"Look at the number of guests walking into the lobby with an iPad, iPhone or iPod in their hands or ears," Ashkenazi said. "Charging these devices is critical to guest satisfaction, and today the HiD37 enables them to feel at home by allowing them to listen to their own music while they're relaxing, preparing for a meeting, getting ready for dinner or waking up in the morning. It's guest-service at its best and it's available from Hotel Technologies TODAY."
