Crestline Hotels & Resorts Promotes Three to Executive Positions

Edward Hoganson as EVP of Finance & Business Development; Carolee Ettline Moore as VP of Sales and
Ryan Hymel as Director of Finance & Business Development


FAIRFAX, Va., May 5, 2011-- James Carroll, President & CEO for Crestline Hotels & Resorts today announced the promotion of three senior management executives: Edward Hoganson , who rejoined Crestline Hotels & Resorts in 2007, will assume the position of Executive Vice President of Finance & Business Development; Carolee Ettline Moore , who joined Crestline in 2000, is promoted to Vice President of Sales; and Ryan Hymel, who joined Crestline in 2004, is promoted to Director of Finance & Business Development.

Upon announcing the promotions, Mr. Carroll commended each of the executives for their diligent work and commitment to excellence. "Each of these individuals has made an unparalleled contribution to the ongoing success of Crestline Hotels & Resorts," said Carroll. "We particularly appreciate their dedication and hard work during the past two years during trying economic conditions. Crestline's ongoing success is in large part because of their diligence, insight and leadership capabilities," added Carroll.

The promotions and new positions announced are:

  • Edward Hoganson, Executive Vice President of Finance & Business Development

    As Executive Vice President of Finance & Business Development, Mr. Hoganson oversees the company's financial reporting, asset management and leads the push to grow the firm's management business with select capital partners.

    Mr. Hoganson rejoined Crestline in 2007 from Sunrise Senior Living where he served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Acquisitions. Prior to that, Mr. Hoganson was Vice President of Acquisitions for Barcelo Crestline and then Vice President of Asset Management for Highland Hospitality Corporation. He was instrumental in the growth of Crestline from its merger with Barcelo Hotels & Resorts to the creation of Highland Hospitality Corporation, an independent REIT that was spun off from Barcelo Crestline. He has more than 15 years of financial and hospitality industry management experience. He began his career with Deloitte & Touche and then joined Marriott International where he held various finance positions during a six year period, prior to joining what was then Crestline Capital.

    Mr. Hoganson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University, a Master of Arts in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters of Business from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
  • Carolee Ettline Moore, Vice President of Sales

    As Vice President of Sales, Ms. Moore will report to Vicki Denfeld, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. She will oversee the team of Directors of Field Sales. She will assist with the hiring and training of new sales & marketing staff, as well as the coordination of brand standards and ongoing sales team training.

    Ms. Moore joined Crestline as a sales associate in 2000 and has received numerous promotions to her current sales leadership role. In her new position she will be headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA.

    Ms. Moore joined Crestline from the Promus Hotel Corporation where she held numerous operations and sales management positions. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University - Robinson College of Business and a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Administration from the University of South Carolina.
  • Ryan Hymel, Director of Finance & Business Development

    As Director of Finance & Business Development, Mr. Hymel reports to Mr. Hoganson. Mr. Hymel assists in the review of potential mergers and acquisitions, as well as performing due diligence, forecast modeling and mortgage debt analysis. He joined Crestline in 2004 as a Financial Analyst and was subsequently promoted several times to his current position.

    Mr. Hymel is a candidate for a Master degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University, McDonough School of Business, and he holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.
