Montage Hotels & Resorts today announces the appointment of Jason
Herthel
to the role of Vice President of Acquisitions and Development.“We are thrilled to welcome Jason to Montage Hotels & Resorts,” said Alan Fuerstman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Montage Hotels & Resorts. “His extensive background directing business development and acquisition strategy for luxury hospitality groups makes him a natural fit for this position. We look forward to the continued growth of Montage Hotels & Resorts with his impressive leadership.” Herthel joins Montage Hotels & Resorts having recently returned to the United States from Abu Dhabi, where he served as Senior Vice President of Project Development for Viceroy Hotel Group, a position he held since 2008. During his tenure with Viceroy, Herthel directed all aspects of the company’s expansion and business development, including the successful addition of upcoming Viceroy properties in the Maldives, Europe and the United Arab Emirates. He also held the position of Senior Vice President of Project Development and Associate General Counsel for The Kor Group, prior to that company’s 2008 restructuring as Viceroy Hotel Group. Previously, Herthel served as Principal & General Counsel for The Setai Group, where he played an instrumental role in the company’s development of more than 1.2 million square feet of residential and mixed-use hotel and resort properties in South Florida and the Caribbean. In his new role, Herthel will serve as a key member of the Montage Hotels & Resorts executive team, reporting directly to Alan Fuerstman. He will be responsible for spearheading all strategic development for Montage Hotels & Resorts, including the expansion of the company’s portfolio of hotels and resorts, both within the United States and internationally. Herthel holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School, a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stanford University.
