Calvin Belknap Named Resort Manager of The Omni Mount Washington Resort
in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire

BRETTON WOODS, N.H. (April 27, 2011)
- The Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, has promoted Calvin Belknap to Resort Manager.  Following five years as Executive Director of Food & Beverage - during which the resort achieved AAA Four-Diamond status and the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the Dining Room and the Bretton Arms Dining Room - Belknap is now responsible for all daily operations at the storied mountain retreat.

Belknap's expertise is reflective of his vast experience at top resorts and a myriad of accolades earned throughout his career.  He first joined the Mount Washington Resort in 1992 as Executive Sous Chef before heading to warmer climates to take on the roles of Executive Chef in Florida.  Belknap ultimately accepted the position of Corporate Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage for Colonial Williamsburg and The Williamsburg Inn in Virginia.  In 2001, the Dining Room at The Williamsburg Inn was named one of the best restaurants by Distinguished Restaurants of North America, and received the National Restaurant Association Award of Excellence for Service, Wine and Food, the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and an AAA Four-Diamond Rating.  Along with three medals won in international competitions, including a U.S. Culinary Olympic Team tryout, Belknap received the Blue Plate Award from Epicurean.  Belknap was lured back in 2002, where he became the Executive Chef for the Mount Washington Resort.  His talent and passion ultimately led to his most recent role as Executive Director of Food & Beverage.  In that role since 2006, Belknap oversaw a team of more than 300 associates across the resort's 14 dining venues, from the classic Omni Mount Washington Hotel and Bretton Arms Dining Rooms, to the re-concepted Stickney's, a farm-to-table pub and steakhouse.

In 1999, the Resort Food Executives Committee awarded Belknap the Herman Rusch Medallion as one of the top resort Executive Chefs in the U.S. and Caribbean.  He has worked with Joachim Splichal, appeared with Al Roker on the Food Network and made recent appearances on New England Cable News (NECN) and Sirius's Martha Stewart Radio.  Belknap has also been featured in Bon Appétit, Gourmet and Wine Spectator.
