Marriott International Responds to Events in Japan
.
Marriott International Statement as of March 17, 2011; 5:00 PM (ET) - Our thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by the recent devastating events in Japan. To date, there have been no reports of guest or employee injuries, or reports of structural damage at any of our hotels.

Marriott International operates or licenses nine hotels in Japan, including:
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka
  • Okinawa Marriott Resort & Spa
  • Nagoya Marriott Associa Hotel
  • Renaissance Naruto Resort
  • Renaissance Okinawa Resort
  • Renaissance Sapporo Hotel
  • Atago Forest Tower, Tokyo – Marriott Executive Apartments
  • Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Ginza Hotel

We are deeply concerned about the ongoing potential for radiation exposure and how it might affect our guests and travel to Japan. At this time, the radiation is largely confined to specific areas of the country located near the Fukushima nuclear power plant. We continue to monitor conditions closely throughout Japan and will reevaluate our safety and security measures as appropriate. As always, the safety and security of our guests and employees is a top priority.

For information regarding hotel reservations, please call (800) 228-9290 in the United States and (81)(3)5405-1511 in Japan. Those in countries outside of the United States and Japan seeking information about the impact of the Japan earthquake should call the Marriott International toll-free number in their country.
