New Castle Hotels & Resorts Appoints Meredith Brinkley as General Manager
of the 122-suite Homewood Suites by Hilton in Virginia Beach, Virginia


SHELTON, CONN. – March 23, 2011 – Meredith Brinkley has been appointed general manager of the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Virginia Beach, Va., announced Gerald P. Chase, chief operating officer and president of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, which manages the all-suites property.

Brinkley joins the New Castle team from the Residence Inn by Marriott in nearby Norfolk, Va., where she served as general manager for the past three years. Prior to that she held managerial positions at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Chesapeake, Va., the Residence Inn by Marriott also in Chesapeake, and the SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Norfolk. She began her hospitality career in 1999 as a front desk supervisor for the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort, where she was named associate of the year in 2003. Brinkley has extensive training in Marriott sales and management courses.

“Meredith brings broad managerial experience and an insightful understanding of the regional market to her role as general manager of the Homewood Suites by Hilton, Virginia Beach,” Chase says. “We’re confident her management will help the property continue to deliver ROI to the property owners, and an outstanding experience to both leisure and business guests.”

The Homewood Suites by Hilton, Virginia Beach opened in August 2008, co-developed by New Castle and George Harwin of VA. Beach Hotel Partners. Located at 5733 Cleveland Street, the 122-suite extended-stay hotel features contemporary décor with vaulted ceilings in public areas, 1,000 square feet of meeting space, an indoor pool, fitness room, complimentary hot breakfast buffet, evening manager’s reception Monday through Thursday, and a relaxing outdoor courtyard area.

Nearby attractions include the Virginia Beach Oceanfront and Boardwalk, Virginia Beach Aquarium and Marine Science Center, Old Coast Guard Station and the Cape Henry Lighthouse. The hotel is just 6.5 miles from Norfolk International Airport.
