Choice Hotels International Opens 16 New Hotels in February
in 11 States and 3 Additional Countries

Silver Spring, Md. (March 9, 2011) – Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) continues to grow with the announcement of 16 newly-opened franchised properties during the month of February. The openings include hotels in 11 states and three additional countries, adding more than 1,400 rooms to the company’s existing 495,000-plus rooms. Select properties that opened in February include:

Clarion Hotel – Myrtle Beach, S.C.
This 100-percent smoke free, pet-friendly hotel, located just a short drive from the ocean and all the attractions this vacation destination has to offer, offers free airport transportation, free weekday newspapers, indoor heated pool, outdoor pool, fitness center, game room, laundry facilities, on-site restaurant and sun deck. The hotel also has an on-site business center and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space. All guestrooms feature balconies, free Wi-Fi, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards while select rooms also offer microwaves, refrigerators and wet bars.

MainStay Suites – Winnipeg, Canada
This 101-room extended stay hotel is the first MainStay Suites hotel in Manitoba and the second to open in Canada overall. The property features expanded fitness facilities with sauna and whirlpool, approximately 1,000-plus square feet of meeting space, on-site laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi and free grab-and-go breakfast. Guest suites offer a fully-equipped kitchen, large work area, bright task lighting, sleeper sofa, iron and ironing board. Select guest suites also feature in-room wireless computers synced to flat screen TVs.

Clarion Hotel – Itaipava, Brazil
Located in the only Imperial City in South America, the Clarion Hotel Itaipava is near Rio de Janeiro and within walking distance to some of the best shopping and restaurants in the city. The hotel offers free breakfast, free daily newspaper, outdoor heated pool, poolside bar, sauna, racquetball court, pool table, tennis court, bicycle rentals, business center, and on-site coffee shop. Spacious guest rooms are nicely appointed with HD flat-screen plasma TVs, mini-bars, pillow top mattresses, in-room safe, and trouser press while some rooms offer balconies, kitchen facilities, and robes.
