St. Regis Bangkok, the First St. Regis in Thailand, Names Key Appointments
to Executive Team to Spearhead Opening Scheduled for Early 2011

BANGKOK (January 4, 2011) – The St. Regis Bangkok is pleased to announce the appointment of key executives to spearhead the opening of the first St. Regis hotel in Thailand in early 2011.  The St. Regis Bangkok has named Andreas Oberoi as General Manager, Guenter H. Gebhard as Hotel Manager, Henry P. Sears as Director of Rooms, Holger Jakobs as Director of Sales and Marketing, Leonardo Concezzi as Executive Chef, Matthias Berger as Director of Finance, Chayanuch Chudhabuddhi as Director of Human Resources and Piya Suntornvipart as Director of Engineering, and Gerald Hanna as Director of Residences. Leaders in their respective fields from around the globe, the new team members bring expertise and talent to propel The St. Regis Bangkok to the forefront among competing luxury hotels and residences.
 
Andreas Oberoi has been appointed General Manager to The St. Regis Bangkok where he will be introducing the St. Regis Brand to Thailand. Oberoi brings with him an impressive resume of over 25 years in major destinations around the world.  He comes to Bangkok from Starwood’s European luxury resort, Hotel Romazzino Porto Cervo, where he was General Manager.  Prior to this, Oberoi opened the renowned The St. Regis Mardavall Majorca Resort in Spain. It is the same resort at which he began his career with Starwood Hotels, and under his leadership The St. Regis Mardavall Majorca Resort became one of the top performing hotels in the European Division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
 
Guenter H. Gebhard stepped into the role of Hotel Manager at The St. Regis Bangkok where his main responsibilities will be overseeing all operations. Guenter brings with him over 20 years of experience in major cities around the globe.  He joins the St. Regis team from his current position as Executive Assistant Manager at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Director of Operations at Jumeirah Group based in Dubai.  Over the past five years he oversaw the Food and Beverage operations of twenty-two restaurants, as well as the development of six new restaurants.  There, among other accolades, he helped acquire the title of “Best Restaurant of the Year” by Esquire magazine.

Henry P. Sears joins The St. Regis Bangkok as Director of Rooms, a position that will utilize his dynamic leadership and attentive team building.  Previously, Sears held the same position at the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, responsible for the pre-opening development of the Rooms Department, Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge/Transportation, Guest Relations, Spa/Fitness Center, Telecommunications, and Business Center.  This will be his first return to the St. Regis Brand since his position as Maitre d’Etage Leader (Lead Butler) at The St. Regis New York in the early 1990’s where he was instrumentally involved in the re-opening of the St. Regis New York, where the signature St. Regis Butler was conceived.  St. Regis Butler Service has been a treasured hallmark of the St. Regis experience for over one hundred years. Holger Jacobs, named Director of Sales and Marketing, comes to The St. Regis Bangkok from his current Director of Sales and Marketing position at Starwood Hotels and Resorts’ The St. Regis Beijing.  Holger brings with him the successful launch and opening of two luxury resorts throughout his nine years’ experience as Director of Sales and Marketing within various hotels and resorts, and in-depth knowledge of Thailand’s markets.  His responsibilities will focus on all domestic and international sales and marketing responsibilities, as well as business development. His ability to lead and adapt with ease to the diverse requirements of his position make Holger a great asset to The St. Regis Bangkok team.
 
The St. Regis Bangkok has named Leonardo Concezzi Executive Chef.  As such, Chef Concezzi is tasked with menu design, food promotion and food decoration as well as food hygiene and food safety for all of the restaurants.  He arrives at The St. Regis Bangkok after three years as Executive Chef at Fortevillage in Sardinia, Italy where he managed and oversaw all operations including 100 chefs cooking up to 4,500 food covers per day.  Prior to Fortevillage, Chef Concezzi worked for top-rated luxury hotels around the globe, most notably the Four Seasons Resort Damascus, as Chef de Cuisine and Executive Sous Chef.  At the Four Seasons Damascus, Chef Concezzi held the Executive Sous Chef position in which he supported the Executive Chef in implementing new menus, ideas and concepts, as well as staff training and product research for the resort’s three restaurants and three lounges.
 
Matthias Berger has been appointed Director of Finance to The St. Regis Bangkok after building his resume, and quickly climbing the ranks of Starwood properties around the globe.  Most recently, Matthias accepted the position of Director of Finance at the Sheraton Macau Hotel and St. Regis Macau.  He comes to The St. Regis Bangkok with a diverse and worldly resume, and a proven ability to manage and motivate staff while achieving results.
 
Chayanuch Chudhabuddhi joins the St. Regis brand for the first time as Director of Human Resources at The St. Regis Bangkok.  Formerly, Chayanuch held the same position at Le Méridien Bangkok where she oversaw the opening of the hotel and the highest staff productivity in Starwood IndoChina Hotels.  Chayanuch brings with her 10 years of experience as Director of Human Resources within the hospitality business and much success within the Starwood Hotels & Resorts family.
 
The St. Regis Bangkok has elected Piya Suntornvipart as Director of Engineering.  Piya maintains that all functions and operations of the building operate smoothly.  Piya comes to The St. Regis Bangkok with 30 years of experience as an engineer within the hospitality industry, including 15 years during which he held the Director of Engineering or Chief Engineer position in various luxury hotels in Bangkok. 
 
To complete the executive team, The St. Regis Bangkok has hired Gerald Hanna to the position of Director of Residences.  As such, his role is to ensure the well-being of all residents and to provide them with the timeless services that are hallmark to the St. Regis Hotels and Resorts.  Hanna joins the St. Regis Bangkok after three years as Director of Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou where he successfully oversaw ninety-one residences, ensured service standards, and was responsible for all departmental training activities, among other things.  Prior to his position at the Ritz-Carlton, Gangzhou, Hanna trained and worked at five star hotels around the globe including the Madarin Oriental, Hong Kong, The Ritz-Carlton, Cancun, and the Hotel De Crillon in Paris.
