here, today announced that they have retained MJS
Hotels, a national hotel management company, as the final piece in
a major
upgrade program currently underway at the resort. “We are well along with the first phase of our renovation of the resort and wanted to raise the level of our operations to match the new facilities we are creating at the resort,” said John Bozzo, managing partner of RW Partners. “We conducted a nationwide review of top management companies and found MJS Hotels to have the right mix of skills, systems and talent for our resort. We are particularly impressed with their ability to enhance revenues. They bring sophisticated, proprietary operating systems and economies of scale that will allow us to perform more efficiently and cost-effectively while also raising the bar on the guest experience. They have in-depth marketing experience in this region, but bring the reach of their national organization, as well.” Phase one of the major upgrade program is underway and is expected to be complete in late spring 2011. It includes a new arrival and lobby building and business center, a stunning, “Vegas-style” negative-edge pool overlooking the resort’s beach and cove, and a new outdoor bar and grill. Future plans call for a complete renovation of the hotel rooms and the addition of a new state-of-the-art conference center. The use of “green technology” throughout the resort is a priority, including recycling building materials, more efficient use of water and energy, lower light levels and climate- appropriate landscaping. “Our goal is to solidify the property’s three-star rating and take it up a notch to make it a memorable destination as a family- and water-oriented resort that also works well for business meetings,” said Si Sloman, principal of MJS Hotels. “As Arizona’s only beachfront resort, with great water recreational facilities and a golf course, we intend to market the property more broadly to include more meetings and conferences, as well as family and social events, like weddings and reunions. We will focus heavily on upgrading the food and beverage offerings and building on the resort’s year-round appeal. “We also intend to be ‘the place to be’ for Lake Havasu and surrounding area residents, both permanent and ‘snow birds’,” Sloman said. “In addition to our restaurant and resort facilities, we have the area’s largest full-service meeting facilities. We intend to be a good neighbor and a valued resource for the community.” Located at 1000 McCulloch Blvd. N., in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., The Nautical Beachfront Resort is situated in northwestern Arizona with easy access from Phoenix, Southern California and Nevada. The property showcases the state’s only beachfront resort. Located on Lake Havasu, fed by the Colorado River, the resort features a 50-slip marina with 1,000 feet of beach frontage. The resort also offers the 18-hole Island Golf Club at the Nautical. The property features private boat launch ramps and beach moorings and more than 6,000 square feet of flexible meeting space in indoor and outdoor facilities capable of accommodating up to 500 guests.
