Myra deGersdorff Appointed as General Manager of 218-room
Enchantment Resort in Sedona, Arizona

SEDONA, ARIZ. - February 23, 2011 - Enchantment Resort, the Sedona destination resort located on 70 acres in the heart of Arizona's red rock country, has appointed Myra deGersdorff as general manager.  A calm and experienced leader in the hospitality industry, she is celebrated for her poise during both the 9/11 attacks and Hurricane Katrina.  Her focus on service excellence, employee engagement and financial management is complemented by the importance she places on the role of approachability, enthusiasm and optimism in senior management.

"With more than three decades of expertise guiding all aspects of upscale and luxury hotel operations, Myra is an accomplished leader with sophistication and outstanding interpersonal skills," said Mark Grenoble, Enchantment Group President.  "Her innate talent, integrity and reliability combined with financial savvy, strength in marketing and revenue management bring tremendous value to Enchantment."

Ms. deGersdorff assumes responsibility for all facets of resort operations, including a diverse array of 218 spacious Southwestern-style accommodations; 33,000-square-feet of newly renovated indoor and outdoor meetings and event space; two restaurants; engaging activities, including a complete Native American program and Camp Coyote children's experiences; and a wealth of recreation that includes access to the resort's destination spa, Mii amo.

"Enchantment offers the best of Sedona with beautiful Boynton Canyon as the backdrop to its exquisite facilities," said deGersdorff. "It is truly a one-of-a-kind escape destination with an amazing staff that has welcomed me with open arms. I look forward to continuing Enchantment's impeccable legacy and working in such an uplifting environment."

She began her hospitality management career with Hyatt Hotels in 1976, opening the 1,200-room Hyatt Regency New Orleans and the 1,000-room addition to the Hyatt Regency Chicago.  After six years, Ms. deGersdorff left the company to join InterContinental, serving as director of training and management development in New Orleans.  She was promoted to master trainer, then to director of human resources, and later moved to Washington, D.C., where she spent seven years overseeing human resources.

In 1989, Ms. deGersdorff joined Ritz-Carlton, helping to expand the luxury chain from just eight hotels, opening new properties in Pentagon City, Tysons Corner, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Cancun. She managed a total renovation and three years of food and beverage operations in Washington D.C., leaving when promoted to general manager in Kansas City, where she significantly improved guest and employee satisfaction and profit retention.  She then returned to Pentagon City as general manager, leading 800 employees and guests through the 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon.

Following tenure as general manager in Philadelphia, she was promoted in 2005 to area general manager for the company's three hotels in New Orleans.  Amidst the tragedy, with 1,200 guests and employees stranded in flood waters from Hurricane Katrina, her decisive crisis management saved lives.  In 2006, Ms. deGersdorff received Ritz-Carlton's coveted President's Award.  Two years later during the financial crisis when the hotels under her direction were the only U.S. properties to achieve budget, she was named "General Manager of the Year" by Where magazine.
