Starr Pass announces the appointment of longtime JW Marriott employees
Rine to the position of Director of Human Resources, and Gary Lueck to
position of Front Office Manager.
Carla Rine, Director of Human Resources
Carla Rine began her long career with JW Marriott Resorts during college, when she worked as the Front Desk Supervisor. Since then, she has progressed through a variety of roles, including Area Director of Sales, Residence Inn General Manager, Special Project Manager, and Performance Development Manager. Her background with JW Marriott, paired with her experience traveling the world for a year with Celebrity Cruises, makes Carla the ideal candidate for this position.
“I am so happy to be able to work with the excellent team at Starr Pass,” said Carla. “I like to see people living the life that they really want to live, successfully and happily balancing work and home life. I’m able to help them achieve that success with this new position in Human Resources.”
Gary Lueck, Front Office Manager
Gary Lueck joins Tucson’s Starr Pass from Denver, Colorado, where he spent the last 8½ years leading the Courtyard Denver Tech Center as the General Manager. Garystarted his career with Marriott in July 1989, when he joined the ID program as a graduate of the Lodging program at Northern Arizona University. After spending three years at the Portland Marriott Waterfront Hotel as a Housekeeping Manager and Front Desk Manager, he moved to Southern California, where he worked as the Guest Relations Manager at the Anaheim Marriott. Gary then moved to Colorado and joined the Denver City Center Marriott, working in the Front Office, Sales and Housekeeping, and later worked with the Denver West Marriott as Director of Rooms Operations.
“I grew up in the Verde Valley, so I’m excited to get back to Arizona,” said Gary. “I look forward to this new opportunity with Starr Pass in Tucson.”
