Tiffany Sawyer Named Executive Chef by Stowe Mountain Lodge

Stowe, Vt.- October 27, 2010 — Stowe Mountain Lodge and Destination Hotels & Resorts announces the appointment of Chef Tiffany Sawyer as Executive Chef of Stowe Mountain Lodge.  Chef Sawyer will lead the culinary team at Stowe Mountain Lodge’s esteemed AAA 4-diamond restaurant, Solstice, as well as oversee the menus and operations at Hourglass lounge and Aqua pool bar.  Additionally, Chef Sawyer will manage the lodge’s in-room dining, banquets and catering events, all of which are executed through Solstice restaurant.  With over 21 years of experience, Chef Sawyer has directed the food and beverage programs at a variety of luxury hotels and resorts across the country and abroad.
 
As a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a degree in Culinary Arts, Chef Sawyer has sustained her passion for food in a variety of leadership positions throughout her career.  Chef Sawyer joins Stowe Mountain Lodge from Orlando, Florida, where she served as a Personal Chef to the Wrigley family.  During her time with the Wrigley family, Chef Sawyer continued to grow and evolve as a chef, receiving culinary training at multiple Michelin star restaurants and 5-star hotels.  Prior to working with the Wrigley family, Chef Sawyer served as the Executive Chef and General Manager of Webster’s Restaurant, a 4-diamond, 125-seat fine dining restaurant located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Chef Sawyer has also held Executive Chef, Sous Chef and Director of Food & Beverage positions at a variety of prestigious hotels and restaurants throughout the nation including at Beaver Creek Lodge in Beaver Creek, Colorado, Celebration Hotel in Celebration, Florida, Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Florida and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Oversees, Chef Sawyer has consulted for top luxury brands in Singapore, Australia, Hawaii and England.
 
Chef Sawyer’s impressive resume and credentials also includes an advanced, level 2 United States Sommelier certification, Escoffier Society membership, a silver medal at the Culinary Olympics in Berlin, James Beard Dinner participant, and a Culinary Classic World Cup winner.  Although Chef Sawyer has proven her dedication to her work over the course of her 21-year career, she also creates opportunities to tap into her athletic abilities and passion.  As an award-winning and competitive athlete, Chef Sawyer frequently goes skydiving, rock-climbing, base-jumping, white water rafting, hang gliding, scuba diving, skiing and flies single-engine planes.  Her dare-devil traits and risk-taking nature translates gracefully from the kitchen to the great outdoors.
