Denihan Hospitality Group Appoints Katie Meyer
as
Vice President, Public Relations

New York, NY – November 15, 2010 – Denihan Hospitality Group announced today the appointment of Katie Meyer as vice president of public relations, effective immediately.  In this newly created role, Meyer will oversee the corporate communications and brand public relations strategy for Denihan, one of the nation’s premier owners and operators of boutique lifestyle hotels.  Meyer has worked with Denihan on a consultancy basis since June 2010.  She will report to John Moser, chief brand and marketing officer.

An industry veteran of more than 25 years, Meyer most recently served as vice president of corporate communications for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where she led the company’s global public relations, corporate and brand messaging strategy, including the launch of two new brands, Andaz and Hyatt Place.

Meyer began her career in in-house public relations roles at Westin Hotels & Resorts, for both The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco and the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower in Los Angeles, and was later promoted to director of corporate public relations for Westin.

Following the 1998 acquisition of ITT Sheraton by Starwood and merger of Westin and Sheraton, Meyer joined the newly-formed Starwood Hotels & Resorts as vice president of public relations.  At Starwood, she led the global PR integration of the three companies and managed the global spokesperson strategy for the CEO of Starwood’s Hotel Group.  There, she also played a key role in the launch of such industry firsts as the Westin ‘Heavenly Bed’, Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) and W Hotels.

In 2001, Meyer relocated to London, England as vice president of global public relations for Le Meridien, where she spent three years managing global brand communications and corporate/CEO media strategy in key markets around the world.

Throughout her career, Meyer has worked with hotel management, ownership and developers in creating and executing communications programs for new hotel developments, re-branding, entry into new and emerging global markets and the launch of new products and concepts.  Her corporate expertise has run the gamut from crisis management to communications surrounding leadership change and financial restructuring.

“It is a great pleasure for us to welcome Katie to the Denihan team,” said Moser.  “With our company at a pivotal point in its history and embarking on an aggressive growth phase, having someone of Katie’s caliber leading our brand and corporate public relations efforts will be of immeasurable value to Denihan.
